what has he shown so far that he is better than Kalulu, Calabria, Conti, absolutely nothing. better player we have in primavera, throwing money
let me just list one game that he showed something beyond the goal he gave us.

Not that I'm a fan of youtube clips(never tells the full story) but there's no way pre 20/21 Calabria or Conti(at AC Milan) could put together a clip like this.

I've seen him plenty, not just one or two games, he can play CB as well as RB but I think his speed and crossing is better suited to playing RB.
He's defensively better than Conti that's for sure and I think on par with Calabria at the moment but he's faster and better on the ball. 

Worst case he stays as he is and we've got 2 decent starters. Best case he continues improving(he's only 21) and we have another top fullback.

My only issue is price. 15 is a good deal. 20 is about the max we should pay. 25 is too much.
Also begs the question... can we afford to spend 15-20 on a RB when we still have Conti and still need a good CB and potentially CM.

Conti
Krunic
Samu
Duarte
Musacchio
Laxalt

and bring in
Tomiyasu
a good CM
Depay
Ajer
A good backup LB

The biggest killer is having to find homes for the players on the first list.

we definitely need to get rid of Conti which is unlikely considering he's injured. Doesn't seem like the club think Kalulu is ready in which case he should be loaned out to get consistent game time playing against adults not kids. 
I'd take Samu over Suso anyday. Works harder and less predictable... He's jsut not a top RW either. 

Ideally we sell Conti and Samu, loan Kalulu and sign Tomiyasu and a top RW.

Yeah. That's why I said in a perfect world.
Let's face it. Ajer, Tomiyasu, and Bakayoko have already been discussed so it's a matter of just closing those deals. The hard part is selling the deadwood.
At this stage I can't see us selling anyone other than last minute deals for Laxalt(rumored interest) and maybe Krunic but do we let either go now with no replacement lined up?

Then you need to watch more game's. Last year he did well under Miha and grew a lot. He is a versatile player , can play CB, RB and LB. He is strong with both feet, can cross well and is quick for his height, and at 22 he will grow with Theo, Roma and hopefully Kalulu. I have hope for Kalulu but I think he'll get game's in Coppa Italia and such. He might also need time to adapt in Italy.
Who knows or cares if Calabria or Conti stay.

Is really Tomiyasu MUCH better than Calabria? In what aspect the Japanese superior to our fullback?

I think we will have to loan Conti, no one will buy him. Probably same as Duarte. Laxalt has suitors in Russia, Greece and Portugal so we should just settle for the 7-8 offered.
I don't think Musacchio is due back until November or December.


LB: Theo, Tomiyasu.
CB:Romagnoli, Kjaer, Tomiyasu, Gabbia, Kalulu. Musacchio.
RB: Calabria, Tomiyasu, Kalulu.

Tomiyasu is disciplined and consistent, something Calabria needs to learn. Tomiyasu can also cross well, Calabria can't.

If Calabria can be consistent and disciplined, he should be our starting RB. 


Tomiyasu should be seen as Kjaer's heir since he is in his 30's.
We could end up :
Theo-Roma-Tomiyasu-Calabria.

Which is pretty good.
