Boubakary Soumaré was followed on several occasions by Geoffrey Moncada and his scouting team who approved his profile immediately. Maldini and Massara plan to make a new attempt to sign him in January's mercato.

There was rumor that the problem was more about the transfer fee not the player's rejection, right? 

I hope we would have transfer funds ready next time to bring him to Milan.

Soumare seems like a lot of money for a player who plays a position of not so urgent need to me. I don't watch Ligue 1 regularly and don't want to comment on the quality of the player without seeing him play, but he would be a rotation DM on this team. Is it really wise to spend 30M+ for a backup DM? I would much rather we focus that money on a position of greater need, like CB or RW. Soumare is also pretty young, so he would need a lot of game time to develop. Being a second choice player here would more likely stunt his growth than aid it.
