We have to remember that we're not going to have 8-9 players out injured for the rest of the season. I think once we have Bennacer, Ibra and Saelemaekers back, which should be soon, things will look a lot better. We just have to get through these Torino matches first. Calha will probably just miss this one match this weekend as well. With a bit of luck Rebic and Krunic will be done with covid in a week's time, maybe a bit longer. The only player who's actually out for a longer period of time is Gabbia, so bringing in a centre back is important.

His obsession with "making the right deal" could have costed us a few gems. This team, despite a lot of difficulties, has achieved tremendous results so far. All we need is another push and we can at least get CL next year, which would be financially lucrative. If we end up losing on our number one targets because Maldini insists on not paying 2M extra, he better be ready to answer questions if we end up missing out again on CL. I don't want to hear any "we did the right thing" talk. Maldini has been very lucky with his signings imo, We didn't signed the best players or talents from other clubs except for Hauge and has focused on cheap players rather than the best ones.
Forza Diavolo ale!!!

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that we're still top of the league. Let me repeat it again, we're top of the league. Yes, without some reinforcements, we probably won't win the scudetto in a wide open year for us, that'd be a shame. But, the core of the squad is strong and the most important signings remain Donnarumma and Hakan.
The fact that we had to play Calabria at DM shows how extensive our injury bugs have been. The name of the game for this season is indeed depth. Yes, I'd love to have 4 world-class midfielders and 5 world-class defenders in our squad. But, the economics don't make sense. Having said that, I really hope Maldini delivers at least Simakan. I think if we get him, we could solve our 4th DM problem if we don't want Krunic there. At least temporarily until the summer. Yes we apparently lost Kone to Gladbach, but a few weeks ago I hadn't even heard of the name Kone being linked. And some fans like to complain that how come we couldn't afford a 9m signing like Kone. But, if we do get Kone and Simakan that would be close to 30m investment. Perhaps, we don't have that much money in the budget. Moreover, we should also see clubs like Gladbach ... are they spending 30m this winter? And we should remember we've basically invested another 15m + 10 for Tonali. I think with the current squad, barring any more significant injuries, we should be fine with CL qualification. Scudetto is another question. But, then, if someone told me in the beginning of the season that we would be challenging the scudetto with our current squad, I'd be over the moon. Let's take a deep breath and see what Maldini is going to do. So far he's made a few mistakes and some major decisions right.

I don't want to hear any "we did the right thing" talk. Reports claim we have a budget of only €5m for a midfielder. If that's true, there's not much to work with for Maldini. It's not only Maldini's fault if we can't sign players. It would be easy to sign players if we had a higher/unlimited budget, but clearly it's not like that. Edit: The source for the €5m midfield budget was actually Gianluca Di Marzio.

As for Simakan Milan still remain optimistic that we are in pole position.
We need to close this deal asap, if not more and more clubs will join the race...

I would like to have Serie B youngster like Esposito or Ricci then.

WTF only 5!?!?!?!? c'mmon if this is true , than Maldini should be awarded Nobel prize for doing miracles, given we still top the league.

No Ibra for a long time now.
No Bennacer for several games. No Kjaer for several days. No Romagnoli to start the season. Rebic out for a couple spells. Saelemaekers out for a couple spells. Kessie out for a game. Theo out for a game. Tonali out for a game. Gabbia out for a while. Probably forgetting someone, but the point is...the squad has shown to be capable of handling anything. Pioli's football is still there to be seen. We are still at the top of the table. So...NO panic buys. We are fine. Players are actually about to start returning. We'll have a full squad soon (2-3 weeks max). Again, NO panic buys please.

Its not that i have known this player before he was linked to us, yet, he seems to be an interesting player who potentially will add some quality to our team. |
