Winter mercato 2021

What we have here, is a CM that's already in the top 3-5 in Serie A...and well on his way to join that same list in all of Europe within the next couple years. He may already be...but we can't say that until we play in the CL and he shows the same quality there.

Give him a big contract and remove that damn clause.

THis... or triple it.

RIP  Serie A , Jube's title run+ Europa League

That likely won't be it. Mario will come in to be Ibra's Vice. and the way Leao has been playing he'll likely be playing out wide.

Still doesn't change the fact we need a RW. The fact we don't have one yet is likely due to not having a home for Samu.

Dragusin looked very good. IF we could steal him for Rube that would be amazing.

I'm thinking that is the likely scenario. THat we were all in but the last few Kalulu performances made them rethink Simakan as a priority. They then changed their tune and would only sign him on favorableurable terms. I mean why would you "fail" to sign a player for the sake of 2m? Unless you weren't really fussed whether you got him or not

Astori and Petagna did spend time at lower tier clubs but the rest no. I don't agree with the comparable and any way a Donnarumma replacement must be ready now, not later.

We are talking about Donnarumma replacement, no one said sell or even loan Plizzari. There is no indication that he can replace him in 2021.

Why are we comparing apples with Carrots?

Auba was never given a chance and sold off. Good enough to start

Petagna was loaned to Serie B then Serie A teams and ultimately sold. Still not good enough to be a starter for us.

Buffon wasn't ours so not sure why he's on the list.

Locatelli was played and sold instead of being kept. Not sure if he's better than what we currently have but would definitely have saved us headaches if we never sold him and kept giving him game time.

Astori is the only similar example although he only really excelled at Fiorentina which was later in his career.

We're talking about Plizzari replacing Gigio NOW now him being sold. Not him not being loaned off or anything else. Plizzari has shown us 0 that he can comfortably replace Gigio.
Had he not had those loan spells then he'd be an unknown but the fact he's been on loan and not shown anything amazing shows he's not ready to start... yet.

He can likely be a great long term replacement but IF we sell Gigio now we need someone to start NOW.

Even if you think he's average. He's still capable of being a starter. You're talking about replacing him with someone who's been average in Serie B

Not impressed with what we've done so far. I don't dislike any of the players we are looking to sign or are close to signing. I think Meite, Tomori and Mandzukic are good depth pieces that can be helpful. But I hated the fact that we seem to be losing Simakan over a couple of million euros. I can understand if some EPL club came in and offered 40M for him and we weren't willing to match that offer, but a couple of million is hardly worth giving up a top level talent for. Mandzukic signing is problematic for me too. Again, I like that he is a high level player who is experienced and versatile, but if we had plans to sign him, why wait till now? He has been a free agent for several months now, why not bring him in earlier to train with the team and adapt to our system? He hasn't played a real game since March and needed all the training/game time he could get to regain his form. We could've given him that if he had been signed in maybe November. Maybe Maldini will prove me wrong in the next two weeks or so, but this mercato seem poorly poorly executed right now.
