Guys, we are not spending actual $ on a backup RB. Unless management doesn't see Calabria as a starting caliber RB and wants to replace him, of course. Maldini's strategy in the market is to focus on low (or at least fairly low) cost deals for young players and loan/free deals for veterans. It would deviate from that strategy significantly if he spends actual money on a Vrsajko.

I'm not up for signing "broken" players. Vrsaljko has been out of the loop for a while now, no? He's been in and out of lineups. Had injuries to take care of. Went to Inter on a loan and they decided not to sign him. Etc, etc.

Yes, agreed. With Conti back then Dalot goes. I think Kalulu might go on loan too. But if Parma or someone else buys Conti we won't have a backup for Calabria. But there's many RB out there I'd prefer than Vrsaljko. 


As Sleeping Giant mentioned, Bastoni could be a good option for LB back up and wouldn't cost too much.

Kalulu can play 15-20 games a season then won't go on loan. A start place somewhere will help him grow, but Conti won't stay anymore for backup.

He is also stupid, lacks humility, is disrespectful, and lacks loyalty to us. He came in and wanted the #9 jersey already (and didn't get it during the first season). He doesn't even want to make any small sacrifice for the team. Remember his talk about wanting to be a big-money transfer for his next step? We were just his stepping stone. Guess what? We got rid of him and corrected our mistake of getting him in the first place.
