Why did they think Giampaolo was a good choice in the first place? Torino's management seems kinda crappy to me...

And what are they valuing Gabbia at with those figures? Ridiculous. Berardi is not worth more then 20-25mil. In any case, he's not the type of player we need. It'll be like Suso all over again. I hate having turtles on the wing. Might as well jot have wings then. Sometimes watching Castillejo make me wish we have Suso. At least Suso score or assist occasionally, Castillejo does nothing. If a turtle can score 17 and assist 8 in 30 games then give me that turtle any day. The season before 14 goals, 10 assists in 31 games. That is one very consistent and lethal turtle there.

I have no idea why Gabbia would be used for exchange especially with the Romagnoli situation. We can't afford to lose both Romagnoli and Gabbia.

Atletico Madrid offer 20M + Nehuen Perez for RdP. Udinese ask for 40M. (CM)

The stats are deceiving. Dig deeper into them, and you'll find that he scored 10 from open play and 7 penalty kicks. Not taking away from scoring PKs as it's as easy as people think to score them. But Kessie also got into double figures this season because of PKs...so let's not call him a "goal scorer" now too. Berardi also had 2 spells of almost 2 months where he didn't score any. He scored 4 goals in 2 games back to back (2 vs Fiorentina as PKs and 2 vs Torino)....so what does that tell me? That his 17 goals didn't influence THAT many games as 4 of those goals came in 2 games. It's good when players score multiple in the same game...but a bigger telling statistic is a player that scores in more games. I'm not trying to take away from what he does at Sassuolo. But Sassuolo is not Milan. It's a different challenge. Tactically and mentally. There is a very good reason why Berardi was considered the next big thing, but no big club took a chance and he's still where he is. I respect your opinion on him. I'll just have to agree to disagree. I want a player on the right that can bring us to another level. I don't see anything from Berardi that says he'll do that. And to give up Gabbia PLUS some ridiculous some like 25mil for him? Not for me. It'd be a terrible deal.

Mediaset: Farewell, Milan. Hakan Calhanoglu is moving away from Milan to Juventus. Allegri believes in him, and Juve will guarantee him a salary of 5m euros.
Excited to see his replacement. Someone brazilian like Kaka I would love to see. ACM is a very vital position and someone like Hakan cannot make it at all.

We don't have any other option other than Berardi in Italy outside the Top 7. I think our Management are reluctant to find RW outside Italy

@Nef - good analysis of Bernardi. Too often we see people focus on goals but there is way more nuance than that. Suso is not built for our style of play.
I just don’t see Hakan staying in Italy if he doesn’t sign again with us. This guy can’t handle the pressure. In the big matches he is fairly consistent in his anonymity. As soon as he has a bad game he will be benched. Juve are so deep that he probably won’t find his way back on. If we learned anything from the last few maldini mercatos it is that the media are pretty rubbish at Identifying our targets or at least the realistic ones. |
