Guys you are crazy to let Hakan go. He is not great, but good enough until we can get legit competition for him. Our transfer budget us pretty much used with Tomori and Maignan. Unless Pioli plans on shifting to like a 442, this is going to be tough to replace a CAM for less than 40 mil.
For Hakan, this is a terrible decision. He under performs at the end of our season when his contract is on the line and in the euros to show case his talent. When they start bringing fans back he will be heckled mercilessly by inter because he is so streaky.
I guarantee you Kessie is sold if not renewed by this summer. At this point management can’t let themselves get burned three times in such quick succession. That could be three new starters if Ibra is healthy. Not good at all.

Zaccagni > Hakan any day of the week. I would actually argue that Diaz was better than Hakan when given the chance but Pioli seemed to always play Hakan over Diaz.
someone like Zaccagni would be cheap, low wage and better than Hakan. He's no world beater but definitely a better player for now giving Diaz further space to develop and hopefully take over the starting spot.
Hakan has only been able to perform for 6 months in all the time he's been here. That's just not good enough no matter how you look at it.
and it'll get worse once there's more pressure with UCL and fans in the stadium.
On Kessie. IF he agrees to a reasonable deal then great. if not, send him away ASAP. We shouldn't just bend over and be held to ransom by players who have only had the one good season.

Hakan is garbage.
We need to start looking at Italian players ASAP. We largely neglect this IMO, I have been so impressed watching them and there is a huge pool of them that haven't made the leap to the larger clubs in Italy yet. We should move on it. That being said, it's early in the tournament but 30 games is a damn long run. Bastoni looks like Chiellini's heir, I know he's positioned differently but I'm almost certain he will play strictly as a CB eventually. He has that old school defending that will frustrate even the best attacking players.
It's a shame that we had Locatelli, Pessina & Cristante. I still think Cristante is a whatever player, I'm not too hard done by him leaving. Locatelli has looked VERY good though. Pessina as well, a very solid box to box gets involved in attack and defence scores some goals. Nice player, I would gladly take him back.

No reason why we couldn't get him back for a decent price given the 50% deal PLUS we could send them someone else to lower the price even further.

Should Kessie leave, id go for Renato Sanchez directly. For the right price everyone could and should be sold. This is what BVB in the years of regrowth. We should do what Watzke did at BVB.
As for Hakan, no words should be spent as 1) he lacks respect towards the club 2) blackmails with negotiations with Juventus, Inter 3) despite being utter shit in 80 % of the season gets 4m and refuses it 4) even kebab media asks how does a club like Milan make Hakan their nr 10
Did you hear the commentor say "Hakan Calhanoglu is not a footballer anymore" ?
LMAO

Calhanoglu Milan offered 4M, Inter gave 5.
It was a big factor.
@Gazzetta_it
So he is gone !? Please!

BUT, can we honestly say these players deserve the money they are asking for? We don't know what the heck they are worth because they've been so inconsistent. Have they turned the corner? Or will the go back to being mediocre. We have more data from them being mediocre then them being good. So then, we give them these big contracts, they go back to being average (let's be honest...most of them have been average/below average for years...except this past season) and then we are stuck in the EL with astronomical wages and nobody to sell these players to. Back to year zero....
I don't mind paying anyone what they deserve. But these guys don't deserve to triple their wages after 1 good season.
Donnarumma didn't deserve more then what he got and definitely not more then he was offered. Hakan barepybdeserves what he's been getting...but he's offered more then that and wants even more. Calabria, I'm unsure about because we have very little info on how his contract talks are actually going and how much he wants. Then we got Kessie, who per reports wants 6M. It's insane what's going on. We have to pay if we want to keep them, I get it but god damn...they are all looking for a payday after 1 good season.
I don't think you will find a lot of fans who disagree that the salary Hakan and Donna asked for were too high for our blood. But, their value are determined by the market, not by fan perception. Donna didn't deserve 10m a year, until PSG came in and signed him for exactly that; Hakan doesn't deserve a dime over 3m a year, and then Inter signs him for 5m according to rumors. If we only want to pay players based on our own perceptions of their value, we are going to end up losing pretty much every single starter on this team. Sure, you can argue that Kessie only had one good season with us on his resume, but that man gets 6m a year easily in EPL. So you can go ahead and offer him 3m because that's how you feel about him, but he's just going to walk for free as well. I know a lot of the fans like to sing Maldini praises for standing firm with Donna and Hakan, but ask yourself this, how much transfer fees did we lose by allowing them to run down their contracts and walk for free? The money we could've gotten from their sale this time last year would've been able to fund a SMS type signing, but we have nothing to show for. That is terrible asset management, even if it was done for the right reasons.
I don’t fully understand the norm, if we decided to sell Dollarumma last summer, was calling his infamous agent and telling him to find a team for his client the only way? What if he doesn’t go? If we announce to the world that please come and bid for the goalie, what if his agent announces and claim 12m+20m to haunt everyone away? As I understand when a player wants to sit out his contract, the only thing the club can do is sending him to the stadium.
