People don't get it. You don't double players salaries just like that. Even the richest clubs don't do it. Certainly not after one good season when you have played crap the previous seasons. How much was Kessie earning? 2.5m I think? And suddenly he wants 5m or 6m, after one good season?
I get that you reward your players with improved contracts for doing well, for getting you to the CL or the League or whatever, but you don't go about doubling salaries. You double player A salary and when player B does well in another season and it's time for his renewal he demands his salary be doubled as well. What do you do?
So as much as I really like Kessie and recognize he's one of the most important figures in the team, I say don't bend over to him or his agent. Increase his salary yeah, but don't go overboard. In any case, we've drawn a line with Dollarumma and Hakan. Would be foolish to go back on this for some other players.
So renew at the cost the club can afford or sell him.
Agree. Kessie is a good player nothing more. Apart from opens hardly scores, is not creative and unproven at CL level.
Give him a reasonable salary increase but if it gets excessive then sell. He's hardly irreplaceable, plenty of other talent out there.

The problem was Donnarumma is at 6m and this has the knock on effect of saying the club is willing to offer 6m if you are an important player, that's why everybody is demanding 6m as that has become the ceiling. If we manage to get Kamara and Bakayoko then I see no reason we should not sell kessie to get some money back. Kessie is not Kaka nor Sheva, losing him is acceptable to me. The most important thing is to pack the squad with talents that can step up.

And, believe it or not, I don't care if Milan loses all "star" players like this. You know what? I have had the privilege to watch Milan at the top of the world, and I am also used to watching Milan suffer at the bottom for 7 straight years. I don't mind if Milan may never win anything meaningful again. All I want is that every Sunday that I can watch Milan play--that's enough for me. (Yes, I know that many of you are way more greedy, ambitious,  wanting to see Milan winning this and that. I don't care any of that. I am very simple.  )
That's why I want Cutrone back.
I started supporting this club when they finished 10 in the league in 1998 so I definitely know the feeling.

i hope not, i hope we find a gem in him. but if we get him, do we still chase giroud? will he play mainly as a striker? or other position? i think playing with 2 strikers will be better if we get giroud and jorge, what i want is a quality RW.
As others mention, chances are Kessie won’t fetch much on the market entering his last contract season especially with club finances will reduce typical competition. This is partly why he can demand a bit more as next year clubs will for sure give him big money.
The media play games and contort things to always appear confrontational because that is what sells. The only speck of honesty is probably the salary request. To say Kessie had one good season may be a bit unfair because it was like 1.5 seasons and during the chaos of the last few years he played very well with Bakayoko. Also he had a good spell with Atalanta.
Don’t let dolla and Hakan fool you. If we lose Kessie we are def out of top six. He truly was the consistent player during our good spells.
