Winter Mercato 11'/12'

I have a question regarding the winter mercato:
Are teams allowed to bring as many players they want (as in june) or are there limitations (like 3 or 4 players per winter window)?

Thanks.

Bienvenido, amigo!

A Team can bring in as many players as they want in the Winter Mercato. However, a player cannot play for more than 2 teams per year, and a player in Champions League cannot play for 2 teams. However, one player from the Europa League can play in Champions League per team, if you remember a few years ago Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra moved to Real Madrid, and both has played in the Uefa Cup in the Fall. There are a few rules here and there, but generally you can bring players in as you wish.

However, it must also be noted that a Serie A team can bring in only 2 Non-EU players per Season (Summer & Winter combined), which was changed this past summer from 1 Non-Eu Transfer per Season.

I agree Zeekay on Gnso.
Neymar aswell is not worth over 20 , he had nice touches played well enough but them wanting 40 million or more is ludicrous.
That Santos team is a bit overhyped , they even lost 15 league games last season .But then again i only see what is said in europe , i dont know what the general thought in south america is,

Like I said, Neymar is pretty much the same player as Pato a couple of years ago.
In Brazilian league AND having a free roaming role he shines very brightly. But to make it in Europe he has to do much more.
And in any big team, the play will not revolve around him, so he will definitely have to develop to the next level to be good enough in Europe.

Same goes for Ganso.

We need to stop overhyping every talent that comes out of Brazil. The level of Brazilian league is still significantly lower than the level of CL for example.

if he is for sure coming, does that mean that tevez is for sure not coming then?

then again, it can be like summer of 05, we bought vieri to put pressure on parma for gilardino, and ended up buying both. of course the only problem is that if both come, who will leave then? one to replace cassano, the other one has to replace either inzaghi or el shaarawy, so I guess it means SES92 is out if Tevez also joins.
I think Pippo will be leaving.
I'd rather we buy nobody and give opportunity to El Shaarawy, or Inzaghi. I really don't understand why do we need a striker who can't get into Catania's first team.

I know I'm probably boring with this Big Grin but I just can't understand why would we buy him.

I agree. I don't mind getting Tevez, but he's not necessary to win Serie A. AND he can't play in Champions League.

However, to get Maxi Lopez, WHAT FOR? We have SES & Pippo Inzaghi. A talented youngster who scored in his first game in Serie A and this other guy who happens to be one of the most legendary strikers in the sport of Football.

Ibra-Inzaghi works great together and should be used. Sometimes I'm disappointed with Allegri's philosophy.

Personally, I totally agree with Maldini with Taiwo, he's simply not the player we'd hoped for and I don't think he's the LB we need even though I was optimistic about him when he joined.

I also agree with Maldini's opinion that fullbacks these days are much more converted midfielders than defenders. This focus for me is the reason why it's so hard to find good fullbacks in the modern game, as almost all are surprisingly weak as defenders.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing us changing the trend and looking for more balanced fullbacks who are defensively better inclined. Although this means we may not have the attacking potential from wingbacks that we'd have from someone like Dani Alves, it does mean that we're more assured at the back. Also with players like Nocerino and Aquilani also frequently pushing into wide areas, the fullbacks movement is more important (to ensure space is opened up for others as they move up) than their technical qualities at consistently producing great crosses, although having such qualities are ideal.

Milan coaches have a preference(maybe tactical principle) to keep 3 defenders at the back any time,I remember ancelotti always used a CD to play 1 fullback position in big games. maybe that's why every coach here likes bonera.

Attacking oriented wingbacks need more time to adapt to high diciplined system.it took 2 seasons for players like marcelo, abate to settle in.taiwo only here for half season,I think we are rushing conclusions. but milan are competeing for multiple titles each year, coaches are under pressure to develop players.I can understand why they choose defensive dicplined fullbacks more.
