If diaz wears #10, maybe shouldnt expect a big signing there. Diaz on the starting line up and Krunic as the deputy. Fantastic... if samu stays (since there is no rumor of otherwise) we basicly ended the mercato.

Romagnoli - Coutinho? Yes please. We'll have to add some cash, but I'm good with it. Wages wil be the problem.

Don't waste time giving Barca anything for Coutinho. With his salary and injury issues, he is a free loan type of signing at best. Guys like that are the type of players you want on your team for short term but never want to give him a long term deal.

Well we surely can't swap Romagnoli and Coutinho. If it's a loan, then ok. But if we are to swap the players, can't value them the same.

It's an interesting situation. If Romagnoli won't renew, then selling him should be a high priority. Otherwise we'll see people throwing rocks again at Maldini for not selling and loosing him for free. The problem is...who would pay 20-25M for him in his last year of contract? Answer is....likely nobody, especially because he had a "not so good season" (to put it in nice terms). So then swap deals become a good solution. Because we can "overvalue" the players involved, yet cash doesn't necessarily need to exchange hands at that high valuation.

Roma got a really bad wrap largely because Tomori did so well. Roma had a bad stretch of games before he was benched, but defensively Tomori and Kjaer clicked. We can’t also ignore some bad performances by Tomori (sassuolo was a big one) that also called him into question.

For me, before the injury ending his 2020 season, I thought Romagnoli was playing very well. He just never recovered mentally/physically.

Long story short, hold into the man and encourage his growth. He will repay us.

All comes down to what he wants. If is willing to stay and fight for a place then sure. If he wants to go then better to use him in a deal that suits us.

I think using Romagnoli as a make weight in a deal does make sense, just not for Coutinho. With Barca's mounting debt and issues even registering new signings, Countinho is going to be made available for free loan at some point, no reason giving up an asset who is still worth some money for that. If we can use Roma to be part of the deal for someone good, like maybe Moriba, then i'm all for it.

Let me decide what I am gonna put emphasis on. Not writing anything here for you to agree. As of today july 19th based on how they (maldini and the board) act I personally do not see it likely for us to sign a big name for CAM. For me this assumption is based on non existing rumors, no linked players, how they distribute jersey numbers, not selling anyone etc. I hope things change, gain momentum. But for now i am pessimistic and tbh dont care if you find it logical or not.
