Summer Mercato 2022

Furthermore, the agents are only willing to sit down to talk details once the transfer window closes later this summer.

Sell otherwise next summer will only have year left on contract.

Sell if true. I'm not sold on leao as most on this site. He definitely had an amazing last game but my guy needs some humble pie.

Milan is our first love not a single player. He doesn't want to sign. Put him on the market. I'm a certified Rebic fanboy and a healthy Rebic could easily give you what Leao did this year (I know rebic doesn't have the speed but leao doesn't have the grit )

Statistically Rebic vs Leao (with minutes ,games etc played) Rebic is superior.

Maldini offers 10m for the first and maybe reach the region of 13-14m for the second and the final offer. Thats a good strategy while dealing. Good job Paolo

Rebic at peak MAY be statistically better but there's a few things things here.
-Stats never tell the full story
-Leao is a game changer
-The pressure Leao on the ball adds to the other teams defensive line allows space for other players to excel(pity we lack the players on the right to take advantage of that).

don't get me wrong. I like Rebic at peak. But he's no Leao at peak IMO.

that's a lot of words but ultimately I think the same as everyone else. Sign him up or ship him off.

Keep hearing mixed reports. read just before the deal was "almost done" at 15m plus bonuses.
Just typical silly season guessing games and everyone hoping their news is the closest to the truth. Ultimately as long as people are paying attention, they don't care about accuracy

hearing United in for Bennacer - 50m.
Part of the reports are saying the Bennacer had to be convinced to stay for this season. And he's pissed off about being on the bench last few games of this season on top of wanting more than the 3.5m offered.
Bennacer is currently one of my favourite players but IF this is all true, then pocket the 50m. Knock on Sassuolo's door and offer them 50m plus Colombo for Scamacca and Frattesi.
You gotta admire the nerve of the modern day players. On one hand, Bennacer wanted to pause contract talks to evaluate the Milan project, and then he turns around and is attracted by Man U lol. Man U has arguably been the worst ran soccer club in the world the last 20 years or so and that's the project he thinks is attractive. I guess they don't teach the word "shame" in schools any more

Not sure you can argue against them being the worst run football club. They're pretty clear winners there...   Icon_lol2

But I agree with you about Bennacer. I just wonder how true these reports are. If they are true then move these players on. we don't need trash like that

Bennacer is a good player that we can build our team on but if he choose to leave then get the money and move on. Same goes for anyone on the team, with money in Maldini hands, he can build another team.
Not sure where it says "Bennacer is attracted to Utd". Just because Man Utd is interested in him, it doesn't mean he is interested in them.

Anyway....he is one of my favorite players in this current group. If someone comes in and offers 50-60M, sure, we can sell. But that also means we need to add more quality in the midfield to make up for that.

If we can deal, save and pay less it is always good but we should not be at this stage of negotiations in second half of June. Football season has long passed the July 1, August 31 or other dates dealings. First day off season is the first day of building for next.

I don't believe in this "project" talk. For many (most?) players money is the most important when choosing club. Man United will probably easily offer Bennacer twice as much as we do if they really want him. I'm sure the real reason for Bennacer wanting to pause contract talks was to see if he could get more when new owners were in place.

I can't even blame "modern day players". In general I don't expect players from anywhere to suddenly have strong bonds to Milan (or any other) as a club. But if they do feel at home here and are happy despite better offers elsewhere, then great.

I get it, money talks and that's just how the world goes. I actually do not have any problems with that. But the players, after taking the money, then get in front of a microphone to lie their teeth off about their motivations is what really irritates me. If Bennacer goes to Man U, and then just says it was the best offer for him and his family, I respect that. But if he talks about traditions, projects and ambitions, like so many other players do these days, then im going to puke
