I am not sure it was Gazidis' opinion.
About the necessary of Botman: I remember Inter had the strongest defense in the 1st half of last season, but then Bastoni injured and De Vrij dropped form, they kept conceding avoidable goals and gifted the Scudetto to us.
Kjaer is a reliable CB but he does not have the speed to support our high defense line.
Agree. We need a CB. And yes, I know we can talk about utilizing funds where there is more pressing need such as RW. But currently, we have 2 CBs ready to go who are on top of their game (Kalulu and Tomori), 1 CB who is 33 and just started training after ACL surgery (Kjaer), and 1 CB who is young and through injuries has never really played consistently and as result his performances have been all over the place (Gabbia). So what happens when Kaluli/Tomori are injured, out of form or simply in need of rest? Who's going to step in? I am not saying spemding 30M on Botman is the only option. There's gotta be other out there and Paolo actually said as much a couple weeks ago. I just hope that whoever it is fits the playing style and we don't just settle (like Acerbi). But for me, one thing is definite....we do need a CB. And if Botman's been identified to be that, than I don't mind soending the 30M.

My first and foremost option would definitely be the RW. Before everything else. Sell Saladmaker and buy one ASAP.
Can be Berardi, can be Pepe, can be someone else. It is a scandal for us to play with Messias and Salad.

It us nice to share the opinion about CB.
I think Botman & Sanches duo is the most important move.
Botman to cemented the CB department.
With Sanches, we will use the preseason to see among: Tonali, Bennacer, Krunic, Diaz, Sanches, Pobega, Adli, and even Nasti who can play CM, who can play CAM.
If there is none (don't count the jack of all trade), we will consider Charles De Ketelaere or a similar player.
Then the RW comes at last since 2 fearsome attackers behind the SC is enough for 4231.
Inter agrees to Lukaku loan deal! They want their title back next year lol.

LOL, if they get Dybala and Lukaku, that's a pretty good front. But they lost Perisic and maybe Dumfries too, so their wing attack would be non-existent. We will see how it all works out
Marotta will build a good team for Serie A no matter what. Seems Lukaku is definitely going there. But the fact remains that (by their own admission) they have to end the market with +60 on the books. Lukaku's expense is about to add another 20. So, I think they'll sell a couple first 11 players. Skriniar by the looks of it and someone else. Dybala may or may not end up there. Rumors are Lukaku in = slowdown on the Dybala front. Probably will need to sell a 3rd player for that one....potentially Lautaro.
So when it's all set and done, like I said, Marotta will build a good team, but not sure it'll be better than last season's. And we know who won tht title last season.
If you read too much of the papers and transfer "experts" (and frankly those guys are all access merchants, and I don't know how well that works when a team is as closed mouth as Milan seems to be), you'd go crazy because on minute they have us getting (insert name here) and then the next minute (insert name here) is 100% going to PSG (spit), for real heard it from his cousin's best friend's Instagram burner account. We have a 100 million euro transfer kitty ready to go, no its only 50 million, wait a minute, wait a minute, my sources are now telling me that we will have to try to buy with 10 euros and a box of size small training tops. Maldini and Massara are signing new contracts or they are pissed off and never setting foot in Milan again. What I'm saying is, nobody knows nothing. If you look at all the players we were 100% going to get judging from press reports, just since the last time I posted here (2018--but I read MM every day regardless), we have signed exactly none of them (I'm looking at you Caio Jorge, hiding behind Douglas Costa and Dani Olmo over there). And the guys we did sign, it has almost always been a surprise. Ans its basically been that way as long as I've been at MM (1999), you hear a lot of wild speculation about player X, Y and Z and then--BOOM! Rui Costa is holding up a Milan shirt after his medical exam (and that is the point you should consider a signing to be complete, never forget the guy from Porto with the bad teeth). I'm not saying its not hella fun to speculate (it is), to sangfroid over other teams' misfortunes (it IS), and to jump to the worst possible conclusion based upon rumor and innuendo (I don't find that fun, but a lot of people do), I'm just saying chill and wait to see how things turn out. That said, I HOPE we get M&M signed up and welcome Sanches, Botman, Origi, DeKetelaere and Berardi (wouldn't touch Lang with a long-ass pole, he seems like an over-arrogant dick big fish small pond type).
 Vade retro me Satanus
Very true
Straight up rumour is kind of ok compared to months of claiming a player is close. Too many of the latter.
