Big no for Acerbi from me. He had a couple decent seasons for Lazio. But it was all in a back 3 and that helped him. He can not play in a back 4. He is physically not up to it. He is more or less a Romagnoli. Not explosive or athletic enough to deal with 1v1 situations. Very slow so he can't deal with speedy strikers and totally incapable of playing a high pressing line. Not strong enough to deal with physical strikers on his own.
He literaly doesn't check any box for me.

No point of getting him imo. I'd rather keep Gabbia if that's the choice.

Thiaw is highly rated I know. But I can't say I've seen him play other than youtube clips.

They only have a contract for a few more days. They're probably on vacation. New owners didn't bother about the work they did for the past 6 months...

Acerbi is like the antithesis to what we need at the CB position. We like to play with a lot of youth, speed and athleticism, and he has none of those. Even as an aging veteran who can provide some experience, we already have Kjaer for that. I would much rather go for someone like Thiaw and see what he can develop into

The reasons come to my mind for his transfer are:

1) The possibility of Pioli's desire for a left footed center back.

2) It would be nice to increase the number of Italians in the squad.

3) Acerbi is almost from Milano he might very well be
a Milanista. It is important for the spirit of the team.

4) Pioli wants a guy who would accept to sit on the bench at times.

Hakim Ziyech has been offered to AC Milan through an intermediary. A Lukaku-style loan has been explored with Chelsea open to letting him go at the right price.

Milan are working on signing Ziyech from Chelsea on loan with option to buy. His current salary is €5.8M/year. Using the Growth Decree and the addition of bonus, agreeing personal terms with Ziyech won’t be a problem for Milan

AC Milan could sign 26 year old danish centre-back Andreas Christensen on a free transfer. The defender was supposed to join Barcelona which can't sign him due to bad financial situation.

Why raid Lille when you can raid Chelsea ?

Would love for us to get Ziyech and Christensen. If Barcelona really can't be signing players then Andreas will likely have many options. 
Ziyech would be a good pickup. Not the best option of all the names thrown around last few months but a solid upgrade and a player who would be manageable with our ficnances.

While I understand these, I would rather us go for a younger option. As had been mentioned, Acerbi only had a couple of top seasons at Lazio and was average last year. He also does not have any of the characteristics that has made our defense as solid as it was.

Breaking: Franck Kessie has decided to stay at AC Milan and reniew is contract with rossoneri. Barcelona can't register him due to very bad financial situation. Talks on going with Paolo Maldini.
