That's the thing. I don't understand why 'ok, we are finished talking' doesn't happen much much sooner. Mendes is not getting weekly better offers for Sanches, that's pretty unlikely. At end of May may be but later than that if he calls Milan back saying I want better salary, better commission, better whatever because PSG are willing to do more it is made up. I think it is a myth that every team director is on the phone with agents offering 1 million more every week or something. May be in rare cases like Haaland but other players directors have budgets in mind, even PSG have budgets already in mind, it might be crazy number but it is not changing one week to the next.

Seems like we will lose out with Leeds offering £30m and £4m in ad ons that's a total of just over €40m.I honestly don't see Milan shelling that size of a fee for anyone.The player may prefer Milan but a players will only goes so far.
When you see a newly promoted Notts Forrest that haven't been in the top flight for near quarter of a century already after spunking over €70m it just shows the financial power English sides have.Serie A has fallen so far behind it is frightening.
But that's not to say Milan can't strengthen,  but as the weeks roll by and all we have is Adli that we knew already,  Messias and a player in Origi that's only ever been a bench players with less 50 goals in his club career it is a bit worrying for me at least.

Chelsea want Leao after missing out on Raphinha. Leao does not want to push through a deal this summer. I guess it's decided that he leaves for free next summer then. He will probably then be able to pay Sporting everything he owes them in one go.

It's fine if a player is to leave but then it's on management to be proactive, sell and solve what his departure does *now*. The next talk with Mendes should be about Leao's next team instead of 4m or 6m talk. While the talk is happening other LW agents must be outside Casa Milan coming in to talk.

I hope it's the last summer that we see things like:
Samu is going for nothing and we are supposed to be happy that we save his wages, I will be happy if the savings are spent well, let's see.
Caldara is leaving, report says with option only and we pay some of his salary.

Yea. Leao has 2 more years on his contract. He could push to the end and leave for free, but it's a risk for him also. Because he has to play 2 more years at the current "low" salary banking it all on the POSSIBILITY that he gets a crap ton of money 2 years from now. A lot of things happen in 2 years. Injuries, bad form, etc. So the gamble may not pay off for him in the end.

I'm all for signing an extension with him this summer. He's deserved it...but it also can't be at some ridiculous sums that Mendes is probably requesting. An escalation salary (or some types of bonuses) are the best way forward. The club has to protect itself. But this notion of "time is running out and we have to either extend or sell this summer" is wrong imo. There are full 2 years left. I understand bosman is a problem for clubs, but we can't be talking about this with 2 years left and we surely can't be caving in to Mendes with 2 years left.
