Sucks about Roback. Seems he just didn't develop as planned. The hope is always that these young guys either become good enough to make it to the 1st team, good enough to be used as a make-shift in a transfer or at least bring in a few million as a sale. Looks like Roback isn't good enough for any one of those options. Never too late. Maybe some game time in the Swiss league will do him good. That's hope talking. He is only 19 after all.....

Primavera turn over is way too big, I hope Abate has the tools and gets management help.

It's too early to judge Frattesi. I am not a fan as I've said, and to me, he really seems just like an average player. Maybe I'm wrong. We'll see...if he ever gets to a top club. The air is different up at the top. Bertolacci and Poli (national team or not) also looked very good at midtable sides before Milan bought them (in Poli's case, he got 2 tries at the top with Inter and Milan and failed at both).

Apparently that's better than our Primavera. Brescianini about to join Nasti at Coszena. I guess one way you can look at this is a lot of the kids leaving where apart of our disastrous Primavera season. Though I am not sure if that's the player's or manager. Both ? I'm personally surprised we got rid of Roback. Kid was personally recommended by Ibra and was apparently supposed to be super talented. Guess it doesn't always work out.
CDK is a massive signing. The guy never loses the ball. Meanwhile Adli was a silent signing, but deadly. Not many people followed that but when the season starts everyone will be surprised. Kid is very talented and was a steal. CDK wasn't overpaid IMO, but still a hefty transfer fee for us in recent times. I would be over the top happy if we could land Renato. If we get that done, realistically a RW and another defender is just bonus. We need a proper Kessie replacement in our midfield. I know a RW was also a priority but I mean we added Origi, CDK & Adli to the squad and they're all attacking players. While not their favourite position they can all sort of play out on that side + we have Brahim who definitely won't be a better CAM than CDK nor Adli so honestly if I was Pioli I'd be making Brahim practice on that right side every day lol.
Finally De Ketealere! With Origi and Adli, they are great buys, but not enough!
I have a feeling, without Sanches, Ziyech and a CB (Tanganga, Diallo or N’Dicka) it will be very difficult to repeat and have the second star! Juve, Inter and even Roma have strenghtened a lot, it will be a fascinating Serie A! Juve: Vlahovic, Chiesa, Di Maria, Pogba, Locatelli, Bonucci, Bremer…etc. Inter: Lukaku, Lautaro, Mikhytarian, Brozovic, Barella, Skriniar, Bastoni…etc Roma: Abraham, Belotti, Zaniolo, Dybala, Pellegrini, Wijnaldum, Cristante, Smalling…etc

Saw Juventus play Real Madrid yesterday. And I know it's a friendly game and doesn't matter.....but Juventus looked dreadful. Chasing shadows. Embarrassed for most of the night. That midfield and defence is so average. Bonucci, Sandro and Danilo are all past it. We'll see how Bremer settles. Locatelli is nothing special and unable to play at high tempo or press. Zakaria is average. Pogba out for several months and they also just lost Mckennie for several months. They actually have a young CM that played yesterday (Fagioli) that looked better than both Locatelli and Zakaria.
If the attack clicks, it can be good for them (Vlahovic, Chiesa, Di Maria), but we'll see. One is coming back from ACL, the other really does look like the Serbian Piatek so far. All I see at Juventus now is names. Half are overpaid "have beens" and the other half are overpaid "to be stars" but are nowhere near and at this point highly unlikely they will become that. Add to that an old school coach who wont budge on his negative ways...and you have Juventus. |
