From (Donarumma, Calhanoglu, Kessie, Romagnoli) only Kessie is starting caliber.

There is no way Donna can start over Mike or Romag have a chance with Kalulu & Tomori & Kjaer healthy. Adli & CDK & even Diaz show that Hakan is the trivial past.

Don't compare it that way...compare it in this way: I didn't say they would have started over our starters now, but they are starting somewhere else at the moment, which is a fact:

Donnarumma - PSG starting goalkeeper
Calhanoglu - Inter starting trequartista
Kessie - Barcelona sub, but could start in any good but not great team
Romagnoli - Lazio starting cb

So if I see this, the values are there, so we should have received minimum 100-120 million euros from their sale!

And yes, they waited to be free agents and get more salaries...ok, but Lukaku, Hakimi or De Ligt why they were not waiting??? Of course their contracts were not running down, but I would say, if you can't resign the players before their contracts are running down, then must sell them to get some money because in the long run it will hurt a lot, because you lose players but have to spend big money to replace them! And that's one of the reason we don't have enough money to spend this Summer!

My dream Mercato would have been:

Origi, Ziyech, De Keetelaer, Sanches, Adli, and Botman

Origi, De Keetelaer and Adli came, between Botman and Sanches, the dutch was not a priority because he can be easily replaced by Diallo or N'Dicka, but the Portugal would have been a must after Kessie left. He was almost irreplaceable price and quality wise and would have been a quality jump over Kessie. The only plan B would have been Enzo, who was gone because we unnecessarily waited for Sanches.

I think there are no more quality midfielder out there who can be a good replacement for Kessie, not only for price but for quality wise as well! So I would skip to add a mediocre or very young player, and try to work on a star midfield signing for next summer.

I would concentrate for a defender (Diallo or N'dicka) and now I think Ziyech is a must for a loan with option to buy! He is the only one who could erase the pain we couldn't signed Sanches and improve our team quality wise with also solving our right wing problem!

I would use Bennacer, Tonali, Adli and Krunic for the two midfield role.

I am very disappointed that we extended with Pobega, because I think he is an average player, slow with piecemeal movement, nothing special and with no potential! He is definitely not Milan material!!!!

I am still saying our problem is that we have lost 4 starting caliber players (Donarumma, Calhanoglu, Kessie, Romagnoli) for nothing in the last two years instead of collecting a minimum 100-120 million euros from their sale.
With that money we would have been easily sign a quality winger, midfielder and defender!

See our competition, Inter sold Lukaku, Hakimi for enormous money last year, Juventus sold De Ligt this year, even Inter will sell their Primavera star for 15-20 million euros and what have we done, sold Hauge for less money than what Inter will get from Casadei...meanwhile Roma signed the only quality midfielder for loan with obligation to buy for peanuts...They got Wijnaldum, and that was the reason why Psg could have signed Sanches...no comment!

if you like their mercato so much why not supporting them? 

our mercato isnt that bad, we manage to keep the core of the team and increase the depth of our squad also get rid of kessie who 2 3 seasons ago playing shitty and suddenly you manage to praise him for 1 season we won the scudetto

Good post nefremo. But i disagree that no Kessie dont hurt the startin line up. I saw one really big vulnerbility in the game with Udinese, and it was a structural one. First of all: Theo had to take care of all the defensive work all by himself, because Leao did not track home. And here is the problem. With the Kessie- Tonali pivote, Kessie was essential to cover Theo and also Leao because we know that Leao is not the best defensive asset. With him, Theo could stay further up, and Leao did not need to think so much of defensive contributions. Our whole left side benefited from this. I trust that Tonali can do the same job, but its needs to be done. Our left side is fantastic, but also a liability, not because Theo is bad defensively, he has become a monster, but because of mostly Leao. Love the guy but he needs to take more responsilbility defensively.

kessie does bring more stability defensively last season, but i think bennacer can do it or pobega i hope he explode this season, but from what i remember, pobega isnt the type to have a good defensive quality, more like krunic type of guy, maybe we need to give him a wand so he can do some magic like potter

this i agree, i think maldini should do better at selling our players, like leao, i think we should sold him this summer, get that 70-90 m this season and get a new LW for the team

And it's not only the first team. Inter are about to sell two of their academy players for 40m - Pinamonti and Casadei.

Exactly. Letting good players walk for free and then have to spend money replacing them is part of the reason we have no money to spend on positions of need right now. Take Maignan, for example, some fans like to argue "he only cost 16m, what a steal!". But if you look at the whole picture, Maignan actually cost Donnarumma + 16m for us. If we sold Donna when we could, for even 20m, we would have gotten 20m more to spend on a striker/RW/midfielder. A team whose total revenue is barely in the 300m does not have the luxury of letting players walk for free. If the argument is "well, we had no option, he only had one year left on his deal and nobody was putting up money to sign him", then we should've sold him the year before.

Pobega is definitely improving considering his last 3 seasons. None of our players had milan material until they got to a certain level. And it happens by playing. Pobega needs to play. Either as a rossonero or somewhere else. We can't sign a new CM at the moment it seems. So i would like to see him playing at least instead of Krunic.
