Seriously need to invest in an academy and youth coaching.

and someone questioning why we cannot sell our youth at astronomical prices
Watching Spurs play Wolves....what the hell is wrong with EPL sides? How the hell is this Matheus Nunes worth €40+mil??? Ordinary player. Unbelievable
Money laundry is that. Since the arab and russian and even american money started flowing into the world of football thingsechanged drastically. And i am convinced that its all abt money laundry no other explanation is logic. The only club that could stand against is Bayern München.
If UEFA and FIFA weren't corrupt by themselves, they would have started investigating the source of the money. Clubs favored by Uefa buy players even when they are broke, or are able to spend zillions with no limit and no fair play is obeyed. Some clubs are punished for having signed cheap craps... That's why i would support the Superleague in some instance, even though thats also an unsportive format too.
What's the solution though, non corrupt UEFA can do what? Not allowing PSG to do stuff won't solve anything by itself. EPL money is from TV contracts mainly, what can UEFA do against Sky, DAZN or others? It's very easy to say FIFA, UEFA this and that but a clean version of them is gonna do what exactly. Look at Barca selling their 'assets' to sign players, what UEFA solution is in that? La Liga already has a version of salary cap for example. That's why something organized by clubs is needed but imo it must be the opposite of Super League, as in it must include every club.
Make transfer value cap. Same as for salaries, but just for transfers. Max amount player can cost and that's it. Make base ground, than increase limits based on performances and time on the field. For example, if he played less than 25% of possible time, his transfer can't be higher than 5-10M, clauses included. Grinundwech

Hi guys...what do the good ppl of Milanmania think about our squad going into the new season?

I am kinda happy but I don't think we've experienced a significant jump in quality unless we get a proper RM/RW
CDK is a nice player and could turn into something special, but we have been crying out for a proper RW for a long time now.
Milan is a rose
Love even the thorns

our squad is decent, not that bad, but could have some improvement like what you said in RW but also we need a better backup at LB, also if we can i want a proper ST that can score 20 - 30 goals a season for us, we dont have that yet and i dont think leao nor rebic can be that guy, in my mind we should sell leao while we still can get a high price for him

Imo the main thing in a transfer window is to always end it with a better squad than when it started.
I believe currently we are better than we were last season, and last season we won the Scudetto, so not like we needed a whole lot.
I think the biggest need was creativity and options in the final 3rd. Without speaking of specific positions, I think we've added the much needed creativity with CDK, and we added another option with Origi. Adli seems to be another one that can contribute in the final 3rd. With that, we didn't lose anyone from that department, so we just simply got better.
Could we have gotten even better? Yes, I agree with you that a top RW would have made a huge difference. It's disappointing that we didn't address that need.

Everywhere else, I think we stayed the same. Kessie out hurts the squad, but imo, not the starting 11. We'll see what Pobega and Adli can contribute. But the options past Bennacer and Tonali seem a bit bleak to me at the moment.
The center of the backline was another area we needed to add depth to...but even though we didn't improve the depth, we didn't sell or lose anyone important. We are no worse thsn last year.

I think overall, the squad is good enough to fight for the title. I think we will. The biggest difference for us was always going to be the growth of our young core. If they keep improving, we will be the best team in Italy again. The cohesion and dynamics created within the group is on another level than anyone else in Italy. If we could add the right pieces to this group, we'd be on the verge of something special. 1 of those pieces was added with CDK. It would have been nice to add another one with a RW. But it is what it is. We have to accept the situation for what it is. Whether we got no money, no access to funds, or simply owners won't spend..
Much better squad. Tonali, Leao, Tomo-Lulu, Theo should all get better. Maignan will further integrate into this team. If Rebic and Benna stay fit, they will help. Rebic is essentially a new signing. CDK looks class. Adli does to, but I’m worried that Pioli doesn’t think he fit the system.

For me, mercato should be about not wasting money. Sure we could over pay and get player X or just buy and average player Y because he plays RW, but would that really be more beneficial than just waiting til the next year and buying the right player? I’m assuming that is partly MMM thoughts due to budget restrictions. I mean, we appear close to selling FBT for what we bought him for. If that’s the case, even flops shouldn’t kill us as we are limited financially.

It’s funny, I was very pro super league. Then I started really thinking, man Real has won a lot in the past 10 years of supposed EPL hegemony. Real being a major force in this battle is an example of someone who wants their cake and to eat it too.

Should Serie a modernize with the stadiums, it is the futures of soccer. The climate, variety in upper tier competition and soccer culture are a big draw. The longer they wait, the harder it becomes.
