I always had some doubts about Botman tbh. I would've liked to sign Sanches, although Vranckx was probably more suitable to replace Kessie. I feel like Vranckx is a hybrid of Kessie and Sergio Busquets. 

On Botman though, he is sort of a Kjaer style defender. He'll need to rely a lot on his strength and positioning which is fine, lots of good defenders like that BUT, our system relies on speedy center backs and honestly so much respect for Kjaer but when he was playing against Sassuolo we weren't playing as high of a line and it was visibly slowing shit down. 


I think our mercato will be more exciting in January. We have some pretty powerful ownership now, not sure if they will follow the Elliott method but as new owners looking to stay and create Milan into their vision I'd think they will introduce themselves with some sort of 'gift' . I think we'll make a big signing or two in Jan

Pro: Got rid of Samu.
*Made some cash on Duarte, JPH, Paqueta.
*Got some exciting prospects. 
*Got Origi on a free who should be very handy
* Got Dest who will surprise a lot of people.
*Able to bring back Adli and Pobega who both will be solid additions IMO.
* Brought in some gems for the Primavera.(Stalmach, Simic etc)
*It looks like we're building to be a dominate and top team in Italy and Europe in about 2-4 years and not just resting on our laurels. 

Negative: no real Kessie replacement, put 99% of our eggs on Renato basket for nothing. 
*No RW for the 100th mercato in a row. Hoping Dest can fill a void there otherwise we are stuck with praying either Messias or Saelemaekers can do something consistently. 
*Didn't resolve Bakayoko. How ? He supposedly had suitors. Now we pay €2.5M for him to just train with us unless we decide to buy him which I don't see happening. 
*Didn't sign any Italians. I don't count Florenzi nor Pobega. 

FWIW, I believe as an Italian club we should sign an Italian same as with in Spain or Japan or Botswana. Keep your identity a little bit. 

I think back in the day's where I heard Inter used to only have one Italian (Toldo) start and I think it's Wolverhampton with only one Englishman capable of starting is kind of crap.

Very happy with the general direction of the team building but as always have a very hard time believing the budget constraints are based on "obvious things", if my opinion sounds confusing it is because it is, I am confused too.
I see nothing wrong with getting good prospects ala Vranckx but doing so out of necessity and inability to go for more makes no sense to me.

RW is a whole other matter, never mind the quality of any new RW, it is also a mistake not to take some pressure off the left side.
