Yea, they played together and as a team actually. Almost without any pressure. This is the thing with players like Ronaldo. They are obviously great players, but they put pressure on their own teammates with their constant complaining and demands. And when their output on th3 field goes down like Ronaldo's has...all you are left with is the complaining and constant moaning. Doesn't help that Ronaldo is an arrogant piece of shit in general. One could say Ibra fits this mould of "demanding, pressure creating" players...and they wouldn't be all that wrong....but at least Ibra does genuinely seem to be a liked guy off the field. Many former trammates have had great things to say about him which makes it seem that Ibra the football player and Ibra the human are different beings. But Ronaldo? I can't remember anyone saying anything even remotely close. All people talk about is the competitive nature and the commitment to training, etc. But nothing that hints his attitude is any different outside of the field.
Anyway....here is what I hope for in the quarters.
-Holland (biased here since I support Holland in every major tournament since the MVB days)
-Croatia (not sure they have enough to get past a firing Brazil that seems to finally be playing high tempo football and less samba bullshit)
-France (never like France and always wanted them to lose in every tournament. BUT, I dislike the English even more
)
-Portugal (I actually like this Portuguese team without Ronaldo. They really were fun to watch yesterday, although it was "only" Switzerland.
