Winter mercato 2024
Krunic cost 8.5m when bought from Empoli so have lost money on the bum.
Initial talk was 'Milan asking 8 million'. Milan keeps losing so much potential in team development and building. Everything we have achieved is miniscule compared to what is possible with a name like Milan. Let's see if stadium does actually happen this decade, may be that will nudge Milan more.

At best, this Popovich is going to turn into a new Donnarumma, where we have to give him a raise every time he plays a good couple of matches in a row.

No matter how badly the Donnarumma saga ended he served us well for 6 seasons playing almost all matches in that period and was regarded as one of the best players in his position in Italy and even the world.

If Popovic had become anything close to that I would take him for free in a heartbeat. But those chances are really slim, so I won't cry because of it. I've only seen Youtube clips and he doesn't look THAT special. I'm pretty sure there are many like him out there. Move on.

If only he did nothing. He single-handedly resurrected Juventus's season.
Not sure I understand how holding on to Krunic for 5 months lost half his value!?
Fenerbahce wasn't offering more for him back in the summer and they are offering about the same now. I think we would have sold him in the summer had the offers been ~10€M, but they weren't. Again, thet were about the same back then as they are now. So in a way we got to use hun for a few more months and still got the same money for him now as we would have gotten in the summer.
At the end, it doesn't matter. Few mills are not problem. If we are going into doom because we "lost" 3-5M on someone, than just shut down club, because in that case it should not exist. At least not at this level.
Problem is when we lose serious cash on (more or less) serious players due to delusional contract negotiations. That should not happen ever again.
If we lose pocket money on players like Krunic, Messias etc - who cares?
I'm more pissed off that we sold Tonali for peanuts (yes, I know he was sold for more than his realistic value, but considering current prices... for example, some Hojlund with 1 average season in Serie A was sold for more money).
And that's not "new issue". Shevchenko and Kaka also sold for almost nothing... Ibrahimovic and Silva, I won't even mention... it's probably biggest heist in history of football...

Milan are abysmal at selling. Always undervalue their assets. Its now being reported that will only receive €3m plus €1-1.5m in bonuses for Krunic.
For players like that, anything which doesn't include salary contribution is success in my books Big Grin

Yet they ridiculously overpay for mediocrities like RLC and Chukwueze who were on final year of their contracts.

When you have a broke owner every penny needs to count.
Milan and selling is a tragicomedy at this point. It is really a pity how this issue endures across managements.
