Summer mercato 2024

They talk too much and don’t act at all. Inter strikers this season - Martinez, Thurman, Taremi, Arnautovic. Us - Morata and Jovic. Big visual difference in ambition and quality. For the foreseeable future, the only Milan team Scaroni will hear about is Inter

Inter use different formation, mate. 2 CFs vs 1 CF.
If we talks about attackers, we can add Leao, Pulisic, Okafor, Chuku, while they still have Correa.
Martinez = Leao: most valued players. Maybe Martinez enjoys better form.
Thuram = Pulisic: revelation of last season.
Taremi = Morata: old & experience. Morata could be regarded better as he only plays for big teams.
Arnautovic = Jovic: sometimes useful. Jovic has more potential, more goals, too.
Correa is useless while both Okafor and Chuku have ok first season.

And about vision or future, Suning cannot pay the 400M debt for Inter:

Surely their dream of owning a stadium is still a dream. No money. New Barcelona?  Icon_lol2

Near future: we now have Milan Futuro, they still rely on Primavera.

In term of vision, Juve are the team to be fear, as always. But this season is still early for them.

He has been told that he has no futuro Icon_lol2 here (he would play in Futuro Icon_lol2 ). Also, his old number has been taken away (Kalulu).

If that's not strong message, I don't know what is.

Perhaps he is playing hard to get (rid of) to force a contract termination, in hope for better salary from his next team.

With only one year left on contract, that's giving him away.

There is rumor now suggesting that his agent asks for high salary. I don't know what to think of it.
Simic's case needs more info. And I think the most important info is how Fonseca think about him and his role.

Kalulu is now regarded as RB, leaving only Tomori, Thiaw, and Gabbia in CB department.

When Kalulu came, he didn't have any first team experience and was 1 year older than Simic, who now has 6 matches for the first team and 1 Serie A goal.

So giving him backup CB status, with the wage related to the old one of Kalulu (about 500k) or Carmada (400k) is ok if the coach and co think he is at the young Kalulu's level.
Another season, and he will be Milan homegrown player.

Wants the salary of a first team player and he is not excited by playing Serie C football for Milan Futuro. Which is understandable.
Jan-Carlo Simic is not enthusiastic about playing in Serie C with Milan Futuro. He wants to play high-level football. There is a big distance on the salary demands; Simic and his entourage asked for a first-team player salary, which surprised Milan.
So happy that we pay 1.2 milions in wages to FBT.
Simic is 2024 version of Kerkez. Wanting big salary means what exactly? We give our third goalies 1 million euros, if a good prospect asks for 2 or so it is reasonable in this day and age. I doubt he is asking 4 or 5, may be I am naive though.
Sky: Borussia Dortmund have set a €15m price-tag on Milan transfer target Niclas Füllkrug while Fenerbahce asked about Luka Jovic.

I agree. The Kerkez situation was even slightly different. It wasn't about money, but about playing time. But when it comes to Simic, if it's strictly money, then find common ground. He's been in the Primavera for a long time now. We've groomed him, developed him, he is was one of the best players there. So if we can't, or won't, pay our best Primavera players to stay on contract, then shut down the Primavera. What's the point?

To be clear, I'm not saying to just pay him what he wants and be done with it. I don't even know what he wants. But I'm sure we can make this happen.

If he doesn't want to play in Serie C, then this is a different matter. If we are going to pay him what he wants (or close to it)...let's say 1m a year....then he needs to back down and get in line with our project. Maybe he plays in Futuro for 6 months and we see how things go. But no matter what, Milan needs to be in control of the development steps. Milan pays the bills. We should NOT pay him 1m a year and then allow him to go where HE wants.

But there could be complexities that we don't know about. Anderlecht for example could be a great option to loan him out after extending his deal. So long as they cover his salary next season. But NO buyout option.
We don’t want to spend 20 million on Fofana, but are considering Rios at 30 million. What’s the logic? lol
