Nah, I would rather not have him. He is a mercenary (in the truest sense IMO).

I am sure that people would complain about it if he joined us, so I won't be too harsh on management for this one.

Alexis Saelemaekers on loan at Roma must undergo ankle surgery after an injury sustained against Genoa and is expected to remain out of action for two months.

Another loanee who will inevitably return next year.

Rabiot is overrated. Slow and static for my liking without that next level of creativity and vision. He's well rounded but nothing special, I'm not disappointed at all by missing out. If he was so good Marseille wouldn't be the club signing him there would be plenty of top clubs after him.

Who I think we missed out on is Manu Kone. He would've been an explosive midfielder I'd have loved to have.

Horrendous summer mercato on reflection

Squad much weaker - wafer thin midfield, only 4 CBs and no reserve LB
Sold nobody just lots of loans most of which will return next summer
Bought badly - overpaying for mediocrities and being cheap with other signings
Too many foreign players and too few Italian

I wouldnt be surprised if Fonseca quit the job himself. He looks so lost and hasnt got the character to lead a team like Milan. And he knows it. Guy looks like he almost start crying. Totally out of depth.
A big los vs inter and his self esteem is hurt so much he wont ever coach again. Its a total nightmare for him

I think our problem is that we are trying to fit a square into a round hole. The players we have are good or decent quality, but they are not good fit for the Fonseca style of play. That's why so many of them look confused and can't figure out what to do when they are playing. There seems to be a massive misalignment when it comes to how we want to play vs how we built the team. And that is not going to be an easy fix because we either have to change our style of play, in the middle of season or change up the entire team. Bad bad spot to be in, and CL should be considered a massive risk at this point

There was so much choice of coaches in the summer, literally an all-you-can-eat selection and variety.

Yet the idiots in charge first wanted Lopetegui and then went lower and got Fonseca, a mediocre yes-man - who had already failed at Roma. 

This situation is all their fault as they could have selected De Zerbi, Conceicao, Conte etc but went for the cheap option as not really interested in building a winning team. Their ambition is top 4.

True, this team cant play the way fonseca wants to play. A Leao that doesnt press, a midfield full of ball carriers, while we need a proper DM, Reijnders and someone like koopmeiners (eg good passer and hardworking mid with scoring ability)

Good ball playing central defenders who are not idiots. Pavlovic is a good defender but cant pass. Atm we have no reliable CD. Thiaw IMO the most talented

A right fullback that can defend, not a waste of money like emerson royal. calabria as backup is fine

Agreed. IMO Fonseca looks like he’s trying to play a hybrid of De Zerbi football, where there are a lot of passes at the back to encourage the other team to press in order to open up space, and Guardiola, with his fullbacks playing high to join the attack/Tiki Taka. 

Like you’ve mentioned we do not have the players to play that way. I get the board wants a company man as the coach but you need to give the guy something. At the same time I don’t know if Fonseca is a great communicator either. His players are all confused. I think he’s giving them too much information at once instead of working on his system little by little.
