Real Madrid- Milan

Musah is made to be a RM. A traditional RM in a 442 for example. Of course, we don't play like that and there are other options further up (RW) and further back (RB). But Musah is a useful player. A VERY useful player that's also very young and should keep improving. Keep him out of the center, and he'll be fine. If he must play in the center, then he must be 1 of 3 and not 1 of 2.

Calabria was atrocious. As was said, it made me realize how much better Royal was.

Leao was excellent today. Top performance imo. Of course, there were great performances all around.

Great result. We needed this. A win like this has the potential to turn our season around. Confidence and self-belief can be everything in football. Not just sel-belo3f in yourself. . Ut also belief in the coach's methods and tactics. It ca go as long way.

We need to build on this. I hope we now keep the intensity and trash Cagliari over the weekend. We finally deserve to go into an international break on the high.

Lastly, with games against Dinamo Zagreb, Slovan Bratislava, Crvena Zvezda and Girona yet to come....we can even put ourselves in the conversation for a top 8 spot. But, let me not get ahead of myself there. Hopefully we take care of business and then we'll see.

I am going to search that H2H now.

Off topic: Against Bayern Munich, we have ALWAYS come on top.  Icon_lol2 (and, no, it is some funny crap like China NT has never lost to Italy or Germany in WC history--because we never got to play them. Big Grin)

EDIT:

1955/56

1957/58
EC Final
Real Madrid 3:2 Milan (after ET)

1963/64
EC QF
Real Madrid 4:1 Milan
Milan 2:0 Real Madrid

1988/89
EC SF
Real Madrid 1:1 Milan
Milan 5:0 Real Madrid
(This was the first time we beat them and advanced.)

1989/90
EC Round2
Milan 2:0 Real Madrid
Real 1:0 Milan

2002/03
UCL Group
Milan 1:0 Real Madrid
Real Madrid 3:1 Milan

2009/10
UCL Group
Real Madrid 2:3 Milan
[I was wrong. We did it before. We beat Real Madrid away 2:3 with two goals by Pato and one super strike from Pirlo. Dida had a big blunder. Big Grin]
Milan 1:1 Real Madrid

2010/11
Real Madrid 2:0 Milan
Milan 2:2 Real Madrid

Francisco Franco's Madrid of 50s and 60s used to bribe referees to influence result, that part is well documented so yeah those results doesn't count for me Icon_lol2

If we had a competent RB, Milan would have been a serious CL contenders.

Great win, good performance, and a lot of great individual performances. Leao, Morata, Reijnders, Maignan, Thiaw, Theo, all great! Even Emerson was decent, too bad for his fuckup on the penalty.

But I wont get carried away, this is a good win, but we are still on 7th place in the league!!! Even if we win the one vs Bologna.

A 3 man midfields works better for us, who would have thought? (Every one!)

Forza Milan! And now our minds on Cagliari

Now, question for, not one but two millions of dollars - why we can't play like this every game?

They need some kind of spark or motivation to play like this. CL nights gives this, but why not on a cold rainy night in Sardinia? To be honest this is kind of provoking from professional players who earns millions of euros. You should give 100% in every damn match not mather what. Fonseca is the key here, he needs to push the right buttons.

Yup, if that's the case, than we have extremely bad and unprofessional team and it's time to change all players Sad

But also, what bugs me, this result is product of tactics. We could saw there is a clear plan how to defeat Real and players executed it well, they were sticking to that vision and result came. But there are games where we look like there is no plan whatsoever, it's almost like there were zero tactical preparation for the opponent.
