And you want to start a 16 year old who scored once in Serie C instead? Camarda is talented and one for the future, but not even close to be ready for Serie A at this point.

I'm not saying Camarda is the solution, I'm generalizing that I'd rather play who we have than spend 50m on Gimenez. Mention of his stats are somewhat irrelevant because I've watched him play and he seems like another 'scrappy' Cutrone type striker. I appreciate his goals in CL but if we were to sign him he should play the role Alvarez did at City. They had their main man (Haaland) and had Alvarez as someone for the future. I don't see him being the striker that solves our problems. If we didn't already have Morata on a long 8m a year contract I'd say sure why not, but gambling 50m on a guy like him and having another striker spot in Morata being filled on high wages would severely limit us for the coming years in terms of yet again having to find our top striker if he ends up being a flop.

His goals in Eredivisie don't tell me much I take watching him play over that. There's a lot of strikers scoring 20ish goals in Eredivisie that aren't being pursued by any top clubs atm. Again, had our current setup be different I'd be more than happy signing him and seeing where it goes. It's like us signing a promising LW but knowing we have Leao, or gambling on Chuk knowing we have Pulisic. We don't have this luxury at striker.

If he was close to being sold but was included in starting 11 it is SC's responsibility, not Gerry or Ibra or others
Milan have apparently made a formal offer to Feyenoord for Gimenez. I guess we'll see how he turns out welcome either way

In other news, we have apparently also made official contacts to sign Arda Guler on loan + option to buy. Maybe I'm being way too harsh on these young players we like (Gimenez included) but Guler is another player I never really saw all the fuss about. He's only 19 but I watch like 50-60% of Madrids matches, for one because of Ancelotti but also because I love seeing Vini play. He seems so lost when he plays for Madrid it could be because he's overshadowed playing with the best players in the world but he always seems off the pace compared to the rest of the team.. May not be a signing again for immediate impact but IDK why I'm surprised at us signing players like this. I think I'm too hopeful as a fan whereas management already knows the seasons done lets say our prayers for 4th place.

EDIT: Santiago Gimenez has started following AC Milan & Zlatan Ibrahimovic a few hours ago on Instagram. Buzz around social media atm. Looks like he might be in the bag.

PLease sign a midfielder. Imagine getting Tonali back
Arda Guler would be a dream signing, ballon d’or material in the future. But Real madrid also knows this so it would be hard to get him… maybe a dry loan. But for the moment I would even take that, we need to do all to get into CL next season.

And also sign Ricci NOW! We need that extra midfielder desperately. No need to cheap out, losing out on CL will cost us even more

I get your points.

Camarda is definitely not the solution. Not now. Not for a few years. And that is if everything goes well, if not he's another Pellegri.

And I'm not saying Gimenez is world class or will be our 30-goals striker. We don't know that, we can't know that. That goes for him, for Jonathan David and almost everyone else. Someone like David would probably be cheaper though, given his contract situation. Also, I don't think we would pay €50m for Gimenez. What I heard was a total of €35m.

€35m doesn't get you much these days, at least not players under contract. Man City paid €40m for a 20 year old Uzbek defender from Lens.
Wonder why we are not interested in Ademola Lookman, Atalananta owe us something in return ! cough CDK cough!
Rumours say we still want to offload Pavlovic, with Stuttgart and Leicester interested. And that we are interested in a chelsea reject as replacement, Axel Disasi…
Registration rules. I don't see us getting Walker, Guler, Gimenez + others since they or current players can't be registred.
