They (Italian SDs) may not want to work for Milan's Americans. But there are plenty of American owned clubs in Italy and they seem to have no problems hiring Italian SDs and having success. Atalanta, Inter, Roma, Fiorentina, Parma, Venezia. All owned by Americans. Bologna is owned by Canadians. 

The problem at Milan isn't the fact they are owned by Americans. Such thinking is so shallow. The problem seems to be managerial structure that this particular ownership chose. At least, that's might be the problem for many (serious) SDs. At least, thats what the media is saying...but im not sure they have a clue either way.

In any case, it looks like at Milan, they don't want to give the power to a SD to make the ultimate decisions. It'll always be hard to hire a serious candidate if you don't give them freedom to work and build the team. On top of that, they have to bounce off their decisions for a confirmation from Ibrahimovic, of all people. 

So yea....I don't see those same problems at other clubs in Italy. That includes those owned by Americans....many of which people seem to praise on a daily basis for the way they are ran. So it appears the Americans aren't the real problem....

Parma has got an excellent young Italian central defender playing, Giovani Leoni, only 18yo but already an imposing physique and excellent reading of the game. Very good positioning. Inter and Juventus already interested in signing him.
So we probably dont have a chance as we havent even got a sporting director. Are we sgoing to wait with everything until a new SP is appointed? Other teams will have a big advantage as they are already planning and making contacts.
