IMO, stubbornness if not arrogance of coaches and managers is as much the issue as Barella for example. They barely got away with Barca because Barca had their own version of arrogance (leading by one in added time they think they have to flood the Inter zone to be "attacking team"). Inter and Inzaghi are not serious if they think Acerbi, Pavard and Bastoni are a match for teenage speed of Doue or Dembele form. Mkhitaryan vs Vitinha is another example of overrating yourself. Also if he doesn't want or can't use Arnautovic or Taremi when trailing badly then why even put them in the squad?

I agree. But hindsight is always 20/20. 
To be fair, they stuck with what got them there. Can you blame them for it? I mean, that's how Inter plays, that's how they won the Scudetto last year, that's how they almost did again this year, that's how they almost beat City in the final a couple years ago, and that's exactly how they got to the final this time around. So were they supposed to change that?

I'm really happy they lost btw. And I'm glad they got pumped with 5. Let them burn.

Fact is, Inter is a system team. Plain simple. I've said it in the past and I maintain my stance...Inter does not have better individuals than Milan. No way!!! A 37 year old Acerbi??? 36 year old Mkhitaryan?? Darmian, Bissek, Aslani and Zalewski were playing in the CL final ffs! The difference in (individual) quality between Inter and PSG is enormous. But, so was the difference between them and Barca/Bayern, and the system and tactical setup got them through and to the final. 

In all honesty, Inter is a very very beatable side, if you take away their comfort.......which is the counter attacking and verticality they love so much. And the best way to do that??? Score first, and preferably score a couple. You force them into an uncomfortable way of playing after that. 

But anyway.....the house of cards has fallen at this point. Mentally, this is a huge blow for them. Simone is about to leave....and imo, he was the most important piece for them. Part of their core is aging. Their ownership has asked that they start buying "younger profiles with future upside"....read, "upside" as in, get them young and cheap so we can have actual assets we can sell later on. It'll be interesting to see what they do and how they rebuild/change. But a cycle is definitely over for them.

For heaven sake Allegri please burn a fire under this team I honestly feel like if we make the right moves we have the pieces to become champs next year with a weak juve and old inter. Smell the blood and go for the kill

Fact is, Inter is a system team. Plain simple.

I think Allegri is the coach that is good at establishing a solid system, while our transfer team are not bad at getting good players, there are just some mismatches between finance and football. Allegri & Tare could connect better to the management given their Italian football knowledge despite not being glamourous names.

If Inter loses Inzaghi, they are in for some shaky times. However, knowing their luck, they probably will get Chivu or Motta and rise back to top soon. Their finance should be really strong after this season with all the money from CL (close to 200M I think) and upcoming CWC (at least 50M I think?), and if their owner isn't greedy leech and is even willing to spend just a portion, they can easily upgrade their team. You can never underestimate the dark magic of Marotta either.

My empathy kicked in and I actually felt sorry for Inter. (Sorry everyone  ) I don't want to imagine if it happens to us. (It did. 1:6 Juventus, 0:4 Deportivo and 3:3 Liverpool were the worst for me. I have never gone back to watch those games or highlights. Even the 93 and 95 CL final losses, much less dramatic but still hurt till today too.)
