this mercato look very shambles imo, no organization at all on what needed and not, why suddenly change of mind for the striker position? isnt he the guy we scouted for, if you cant even give courage to our players that we bought what about the players we have in our academy, i dont think they will ever be a regular in the team if this continues, but lets hope this is just a 1 time because tare wants to build the team from "zero" and people need to remember how bad allegri is with subs

I think we need to look outside the box and rate this mercato half way through the season when the next one opens.
There's a couple things people are having a hard time over looking. The only thing I think we could've addressed better was signing an experienced CB. That being said, we still signed two - one of them apparently a prodigy, and the other being De Winter who was actually inters #1 priority, they ended up with Akanji who we all wanted but they were trying to get De Winter.
In terms of full backs and strikers - Allegris system is very different and its already clear. With 3 cb, our LB and RB are not meant to be traditional, they are more right and left midfielders. Estupinan typically drops back as being more defensive allowing interchanging runs forward from our CB's - ever notice how much Pav or Tomori get forward, you'll notice one of our midfielders will drop in.
In attack, firstly and foremost - Dovbyk isn't a big upgrade over Gimenez. Secondly, we have 4 players competing for two positions upfront. Thirdly, any striker who would've been a real upgrade would have cost a fortune. Who would we sign? Isaak for 130m? Gyokeres for 80-90m? Let's be real.
IMO the only misfortune was to not sign an experienced CB - but if De Winter is who he should be, we won't care.

In my opinion this is the opposite of wildly ambitious.
He was great when he was here and he was actually quite good for Fluminense in CWC in the summer and we need some experience at the back, but if true this is just crazy. Turns 41 later this month.
Modric turns 40 in 6 days and he's been by far our best player. I think general fitness and recovery between tech and routines has improved drastically. I don't think it'll be rare to start seeing top players being that into their early 40's in this decade. The drop off of former generations was that playing the game was the majority of training. Strength training, new era physio, cryo, cold/hot therapy, red light etc has all enhanced longevity
Thiago Silva is another Modric. It is nice to have, but not "wildly ambitious", the words should be used for someone like Yamal.
Being mediocre for many years, of course Milan name is now for mocking.

Also, it's sad to see that "top" transfer in Serie A is worth just 37M... with current prices it's like 5M 30-40 years ago...
