I doubt any team can get away with lying or even exaggerating medical issue. You can't claim it's a medical issue if it's not, player and his 'old' team will complain to UEFA, or worse. It will hamper the player's negotiation with other teams and cost this old team transfer money.

Now reading Palace had some idea that his knee is not good and he may actually go for surgery. Weird stuff.
