The same thing would have happened. Maybe he would have gotten a few extra minutes but nothing tha would help his development.

According to Daniele Longo of calciomercato, Sandro Tonali has a gentlemen’s agreement with Newcastle that allows him to leave the club if they do not qualify for any European competition. He would then set his sights on another Premier League club or a top Spanish side.

Tonali then has the hope that within 3-4 years, he can return to Milan.

I'm not sure I believe in reports like this. I mean, he might come back to Milan one day, but I doubt that there's a specific plan like this. He has probably said one time that he wouldn't mind playing for Milan again and so-called reporters are milking it for all it's worth.

By then I hope others have emerged as fan favorites.

Agree. 19 year old who has participated in European competition will not be helped much in Serie C or D, imo. I still have no faith in Milan as a player development team.

There is no reason to have faith in Italy altogether, when it comes to developing talent. Milan is no exception.

20 years ago, a World Cup is won for Italy.
The best Italian talent in 20 years is Donnarumma, who has never participated in a World Cup.

But look broader, Italian sport is developing quite well. Maybe it is the strategy of the whole country. If true, then we should learn to meditate All life is suffering.
