So if I understand the case right as it stands now, according to MilanNews.it ... Milan have not agreed a transfer with PSG, but Thiago Silva has a personal agreement with them? If so that means that Milan probably want him to stay, but he wants to leave. If true, who's the villain then?

No. If so, that just means that Milan wants more money. Silva may want to leave now, but it is everybody's guess who the villain is, though to me it is quite clear.

When Berlu took over Milan, he was acting just as Abromovich and the Arabs are now; buying players for exorbitant amounts, and paying them ridiculous wages.
Whether it's the fine, FFP, or other reasons, he can't (or won't ) try to compete with them...he has consistently balanced the books from his own pocket, but seems to refuse to pay overly inflated salaries and transfer fees....and i honestly can't say I blame him.
That said, he should look to sell a portion or all of the club, if he isn't willing to at least keep us competitive.
I also think that Arildonardo in his post above makes a valid point....which of us here wouldn't leave your current job for double the salary you have now?
Silva is getting close to retirement....and while I don't want him to go, I can't say I blame him, or Milan for trying to cash in on a player we can't afford to pay more to keep.
I LOVE MILAN

Agreed with pretty much everything you said in the post except for that Silva is getting close to retirement. He is yet to reach the peak as a defender at age 27. I think that he has 7-8 good years left. If he pulled a Maldini, that means 10+.

If it is against our very principles, why everytime there are rumors about Silva leaving you believe it? Not thinking that all of those only media fabrications? Why are we so easy to believe this club has betraying its principles?
I said once and I'd say again: Silva will not leave this summer. Just watch.
dude, you sound like you started being a milan fan a few days ago.
Geo, I was making an example about stars leaving. If Maldini is different, then we never hear about Boban is 99.9% staying or Sheva is 99.9% staying when he was 28 and top of Europe. Point is Milan was never view as a club with a price but now it is, all thanks to Berlu.
As for balancing the book, well, all Berlu needs to do is pay 50mil from his pocket and charge 50mil more in the selling prie of Milan. Thus to me, it is pure BS about balancing the book. Pls don't argue wi me about this, bc I am in M & A and trust me, it is a common practice.

But that's just my opinion. Who knows how much longer he can play?

It could also mean that Milan are trying to get as much money as possible for a player who wants to leave anyway... In that case the club are doing the right thing.

Well, I also hope it's for that reason, but the reason could also be that we balance the books, just because Berlu wants us to balance the books and not because another potential owner asked us to do so ...
Flamini's gone, Thiago Silva is almost gone, and Ibra could go, if you add that to the former stars leaving, that means our most paid players are or will be gone this summer, which makes our club financially healthier.
Only if the income stays the same, which is a huge? Bc unlike last year with its Mr.X saga and being Serie A Champ, a lot of extra merchandise were sold, while this summer that probably won't happen. Not to mention the potential decrease in CL income.

Anything is possible. But for me, Milan tries to cash in on Silva; I personally can't see why Silva would want to leave on his own.
