IMilan always knew Liverpool wanted to get rid of him and Galli just played the game. He just wanted Aquilani's transfer fees and his wages to come down.

This is what made me proud being a Milan fan, seriously, no joke here.

Regardless of Milan's intention. Aqua, have some pride and play on another team and do well, instead of begging to go back to a team who treated you like crap. In a way, it is like a spouse(A) treating the crap out of the other spouse(B), but instead of leaving A, B just kept going back to A for whatever reasons and receive beating....

And may I add, a gamble that has little chance to pay off. Playing him does not mean we will automatically win Serie A. What if we end up paying 7M and still only get 2nd place. What I mean is, maybe management think he's not that great or will not make difference in our title chase...

I said 7m as a gamble. For the record, I don't think playing Aqua down the stretch will make a diff too, as Milan probably will still finish at 2nd place.

Anyhow, if thats the case, then MGT should not even consider trying to get him back b/c he won't add anything to the current squad.

Though I am not against selling Ibrahimovic, I would not want him to go to Real Madrid. I feel that Mourinho is a coach that could get the best out of him.

I would rather not having Kaka back. What is the point? Future captain when Silva is sold in six months?

To be honest, I'm not sure if Mourinho would get more out of him than Allegri. Mourinho coached him for a year (when he was 26-27 if I'm correct?) and he did well, but Allegri in these past two years has got more from him than any coach in Ibra's history to date. I think Allegri deserves a lot of credit in this respect.

A couple of thing, normally From a business stand point, getting under value products will always be a great deal, but that product must be needed or at least wanted, of not then the business is just wasting money. Now look at Milan, do they need these bargain, cheap players deal? Aqua, thanks for Nalx to further explain what I meant earlier, added to that, is he needed or wanted by Milan? I think toward the end of the season when Milan needed the points, Aqua was still on the bench showed how much Milan needed him. Then u had Kaka, who is a better player than Robinho and can slot into the -ACM spot and move Boateng back to mid. Then it does seem like a good deal bc 1. Its filled a hole in the starting 11. 2. Fixed a surplus part of the team, Robinho. 3. Despite his injury he is still a star and will increase commerical value of the team. 4. Pato played well with Kaka last time they were together. The ony con from Kaka is, can he and Ibra plays well together.

This is one way to look at Kaka. However, there are major doubts with him. Firstly, really how much can we expect from him? He played well with Pato four years ago, when he was still playing to an extremely high standard. Since then his career's flopped and he's no longer playing at that level. He's also around 30 now, which for a player who has relied heavily on his athleticism and speed isn't a positive sign.

Regarding Robinho, replacing him with Kaka seems a step back. An older player with injury concerns and someone who for most has been past his best for 5 years. Robinho may not be brilliant and deemed surplus, but from purely a footballing perspective, I don't think Kaka is a proper step forward as a replacement. Instead, if we are to replace Robinho, then I'd say replace him with someone who can really elevate our squad.

From a business perspective and Kaka's marketing value, I see him as another Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. Initially, we'll see a spike in shirt sales with him, but unless he can maintain a certain level of performance then those sales will drop soon enough. Add to this his price and salary and we're looking at quite a large cost for potentially a player who could give very little in return. As a player who is also no longer in contention for Brazil, this could also harm his marketable value for our club.

This leads me to rumours of Real wanting Boateng, with Galliani apparently valuing him at 20m (milannews reported this I think). I don't get this deal at all. When he's fit to play, he's been brilliant for us, so much so I consider him an integral part of our team's spine and he's one of the most valuable players we have for big games, as he has the character and doesn't disappear in these. He's also become a fan favourite in Milan and has the charisma, performances and star quality to really be a great marketing figure within Milan. His Michael Jackson dance, "wild skills" (as some reporters have described in the past) and passion in the shirt have already served to bring him a lot of fame, with the club doing little to nothing itself to market this. We keep him fit and I see someone who has similar star and marketing qualities that a guy like Gullit had back in the 80s.

There's a lot of debate around Aquilani coming back. My stance remains the same, he has qualities which are useful in our squad, but little else. I would rather see a better reinforcement for midfield.

Robinho for kaka? where is the source? I like this idea,I missed kaka's pace so much.he might has lost some of it,but he was quite solid in 2nd half of last season.and I trust his work ethic,I'd like him with us next year if he accept a major paycut.

From the games I seen Kaka played last season, he was pretty good and is much better than Robinho.

I think you misunderstood, Gabriel and I are only discussing a possibility of replacing Robinho with Kaka, there's no real rumours other than Kaka might be returning.

However, rumours are Real are more keen on Boateng or Ibra and Kaka might be a part of one of those deals. This is on milannews.

btw, Allegri has been speaking over the past day or two and made some comments. First off he's publicly thanked Berlusconi for keeping Thiago and confirmed Ibra to stay. This isn't anything new and I guess he has to kiss Berlu's ass to keep things sweet.

He's also said that he personally intends to stay at Milan for 2 years (the rest of his contract), then 4 more years elsewhere in Europe before quitting as a coach. He's spoken recently about only working 10 or 15 years as a coach, so I can understand this. However, he's also said he would like to coach Italy in the recent past, so I wouldn't put this out of the idea either.

Finally and probably most interestingly, though I wouldn't read too much into it, he's said he like Theodore Gebre Selassie of Czech Republic, the young LB and Kyriakos Papadopolous of Greece. I must say both stood out for me for their respective sides (I wanted to see Kyriakos anyway). Like I said though, let's not read into it too much.

Boateng for Kaka? No.

But like others have said, Robinho for Kaka, yes!

Actually Bronzetti said something interesting the other day:

I actually think if we get our stadium sorted out, we are not doing too badly. This is paper talk, and Corriere at that, a paper that is seldom right when it comes to Milan. Keeping Silva and Ibra, the absolute nucleus of this team, was critical. I would still be okay with Ibra going for big money btw. We're paying these players a good salary as well, which indicates that our plan is to pay generously our stars (really 2 true ones), and scale our wage down for our tier 2 players to those on the periphery of the team. Perfectly fine by me. That's why Flamini should take a hike.

Rumour has it we will be 40 million euros in the red next year, which, all things considered, is actually not too shabby. I think one player has the financial clout AND the habitat (first rate league) to buy great players: Man City. PSG still play in the French league, and I don't see that league as enticing as Serie A (currently at least). Barcelona and Real Madrid have not bought big this summer, and the former's vulgar mouthpiece pretty much said they would not get involved in a bidding war with anyone for Silva (which is tantamount to saying they cannot get involved in this bidding war).

Cassano and Robinho are fair game, IMO, but I don't think Boateng is going anywhere. If we have to sell Robinho to land Kaka and a midfielder like Sahin, I will be more than content.
