Quite a depressing day for Serie A. Just when you thought that Udinese got a favorable 1-1 away draw against a not-so-strong opponent in Praga thus should finally go through to the CL group stage, they again managed to get kicked out again.

If I'm not mistaken Udinese owner, the Pozzo family, also own Granada FC (Primera La Liga) and Watford FC (Championship League, England 2nd division). The last two clubs sort of act as feeder clubs for Udinese, receiving on-loan several players deemed not (yet) good enough for Udinese, so I don't see why they want to actually sink serie A.

I notice a change in the new season's schedule. There used to be a lot of games on Sunday afternoon, but all of them have now disappeared. This is certainly great news for West Coast Americans, but I wonder what's behind this change. Also, is it permanent or just for the first two weeks (doubt it)?

Serie A bench now has 12 players, but the number of substitute is still limited to 3.
