Goodbye to all the Old Guards

Honestly IMO, if we still had Seedorf play in the midfield this season, we might have been better off. I seriously believe so.

But no, having him back (to play) is a step backwards, so I would rather suffer the "growing pains" as long as we are moving on the right track.

Having him as part of the coaching staff would be so great though. Okmilan

I don't believe that. What can Slowdorf offer to this Milan except his experience [off the game]?

This team has scrappy defense and we want to add a Slowdorf to this team? Serie B here we comes.

Primarily, Ambrosini is not a good captain and he practically said it himself. He admitted being captain of Milan is very hard,so it's not an easy job and he wasn't ready for it. Seedorf would've been a much better captain, on or off the pitch, in training he would guide the team.
Secondly, against some of the teams in Seria A he could've won us games single handed. Seriously, we have no creativity in our team and that's the problem. Balotelli,Niang and ELS are all amazing forwards but they can only do so much with out the supply. Montolivo is the only one, other then that we have running donkeys(Flamini,Nocerino), kind of harsh lol no offence to them Big Grin
Having Seedorf play every two weeks even in Seria A or playing against smaller teams would've been a big help, let's face it at least he can give the ball to your feet unlike some/most of our midfielders now cannot do. He'd act as almost a 2nd coach. What about Del Piero, in his last few years with Juventus he could barely run or play yet when he would play it was when the team seriously couldn't find alternative methods to change a game that wasn't going in their favour, and almost every time I could remember seeing rubentus I remember him changing those games.

Experience is good too have, Ambrosini has never really been a great/vital player to our team and really, neither has Abbiati. If we wanted a real captain we should've kept Seedorf or Gattuso. For me, it would be reason enough to have Seedorf back just to have a real captain, along with all my other reasons.
However, I agree with what Xu said at the same time we're on the right track.

In fact, if we had Seedorf in the beginning of the season I think it could've brought some calm, composure to our team and we wouldn't have lost all those games.
Just remember, before Berlusconi started visiting the team to soothe them in a way, keep them calm, get them motivated, keep cool heads on the pitch and guide the team .Even if Seedorf made minimal contribution with his own two legs he could've helped us in some relevant way, shape or form.

Seedorf, in essence probably would've done the job Abbiati and Ambro failed to do for us this season, which was guide a very young team through a rough patch. Unfortunately, we had to battle it out and suffered as a result which is why we're not fighting for the scudetto right now and I'm serious. Stupid losses to mediocre-average seria a teams is 90% of the reason we are in this position. I understand losses to stronger teams like merda, fiorentina, roma but we could've picked up at least 9 points(3 games) in our terrible streak in the beginning of the season.
So do the calculations +9 where would we be?
Obviously, I can't use Seedorf as a causal statement as to why we didn't do well in the beginning of the season, but if he was with us it would correlate with our results, you'd see differences.

Totti, for example. Ok, he still plays good soccer but at the same time I have to say that everytime I see Roma in a terrible struggle he's the only one who stands out as old and slow as he may have gotten.
Ambro just simply can't add that dimension, because he was never world class. Seedorf was for a while in his career, and the class is always there and he just needs to show an instance of it for him to change/help us in a game.

Anyways, just my personal opinion don't really mind for counter opinions but I'm just saying I'd love for Seedorf to have stayed.
Though, like Siregar said a page back I would've also liked if Nesta had stayed. Above all, I wish we somehow kept Pirlo.

Anyhow, who cares hopefully we just buy a defender and a creative midfielder this summer and call it a day.

The answer is in your writing, "slow"dorf. Icon_lol2 This season I found Milan often failing to play "our own game"; instead, we were dragged into the opponent's rhythm/tempo. You don't have to agree with me on Seedorf's usefulness (it was my own opinion), but you have to admit that Seedorf is a master at controlling the tempo and orchestrate the play. As a young (and inexperienced) team, we still don't have a reliable option in the midfield that could adequately replace him or Pirlo or van Bommel.

I would still take Bommel than Slowdorf, Bommel could be more useful. Slowdorf played one-two good games and then showed very bad games. He is slow/lazy and that would damage our team when we were attacked. He also could 'force' Allegri to play with a trequartista since it is almost impossible to affor Slowdorf in midfield of 433 formation. I don't know where we could put a very slow player who can't defend well. Bommel is old but not as old as Seedorf but still Bommel should give much less damage when it comes to defensive role.

I only base my opinion on how he had performed in the last couple of years with Milan [slow, could no't run and inconsistent].

If Seedorf comes as player who would enter the game in the last 15-20 minutes for example, I am OK with it but not as starter. When he comes, he should play an assistant coach with a role of special substitute player. Big Grin

Put Inzaghi, Nesta & Serginho and this Milan Glorie will give our current squad a tough time.

Sebastian Rossi looks so old that I could barely recongize him.

Eranio's goal in this game is awesome. I know this Milan Glorie is for entertainment only since they'd retired years ago but Serginho is still pretty quick even against active pro footballer when I watched their game earlier this year.

You could actually send off one of Milan Glorie players and they would give a tough time Sagrin

Can we have Boban, Maldini and Eranio, please? Big Grin
