A crazy thought: maybe Galliani could intervene and hijack him on a half-season loan with right to buy? I have actually always liked Freddy Guarin, until the recent month when he was behaving so unprofessionally both on and off the pitch. I am not sure if we can handle another player of such type in our own turmoil time.

Agree ... CL or nothing !! Europa League can kill a season with many useless games around Europe on bad pitches.

Like CL is out of our reach (unless Napoli and the other teams following them do what happened to many teams last year, losing and drawing week in and week out while we win games), I'd better see Milan end at the 6th place this year, building the team for next season, with a real challenge for the title next year with no European competition. That could be a good way to build a new winning mentality (winning Serie A next season).

Didn't know where else to put this so I figure this is a good thread to say it. People who live in Canada and follow Milan (or Serie A in general have been able to enjoy free live streaming of matches on beinsportsplay.ca. This has been amazing because no English speaking channel broadcasts Serie A or La Liga in Canada so beinsports did us a favour by allowing us free access for the past few months. However, the freeness has come to an end. I just got an email saying that paid subscriptions will be required as of February 1 at a cost of $20 a month! I would have done it if it were $5 a month or something but there's no way I am spending $20 a month on a streaming website.

I would agree too, because I really don't rate EL at all! I was wholeheartedly against that idea until most recently I read a post that kind of struck me with some sense.

Apparently, there is one advantage in playing in EL, which is the coefficient points. Not for Italy, as I couldn't care less, but for Milan. One full season without points from Europe would easily drop us to Pot 3, and if and when we come back to CL, we will be guaranteed with a very difficult group. So, maintaining our presence in Europe would be essential for us, and not to forget that EL and CL weigh the same (isn't that ridiculous) on points.

Interesting stats but I'm very wary too. For example, Inter's quite high on the list, but I assume this takes transfer fees from when they paid big post Calciopoli (also the price they paid for Zanetti in the 90s)? I wonder if it also takes market variations over the years.

Good point, Dev. I guess this chart isn't very information as we would need more information (e.g. how/where the data were collected, is time discount factored in? etc.)

I think this chart can only be useful in giving the "big picture" idea, as are most such charts available on the web.
