It's worth noting that while Zeus is considered the most powerful in Greek Pantheon, Indra isn't the same in Hinduism. That said, what you say is very true, there are a lot of similarities between Hindu (Vedic) gods and those in Greek mythology.

Similarities can be found in the following:

- Indra and Zeus
- Yama and Hades
- Surya and Hephaestus
- Lakshmi and Hera
- Sarasawati and Athena
- Kama and Cupid
- Durga and Ares

I've not heard/read if there's a reason for the similarities, though there are many to the point where it seems too much to just be coincidence.

The strange thing about it is that numerous physicists believe that the time in which the big bang supposedly happened according to the texts falls in line with their scientific hypotheses.

Another, and quite honestly extremely disturbing, similarity can be found in the Mahabharata where an explosion is described in quite some detail:

Flying a swift and powerful vimana (fast aircraft) hurled a single projectile Charged with all the power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as ten thousand Suns rose in all its splendor....it was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, Which reduced to ashes. The Entire race of the Vrishnis and thr Andhakas....the corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. Their hair and nails fell out, pottery broke without apparent cause and the birds turned white. After a few hours all foodstuffs were infected. To escape from this fire, the soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment

It's a very close description of a nuclear weapon right? From the column of smoke and flame, to the after effects of people's hair and nails falling out and infected food. This isn't the only time this is described.

Another interesting thing I've heard is an ancient city in Rajasthan, India has been discovered to have had an atomic blast dating apparently 8-12,000 years ago, with radiation still considered a risk that the region has been closed off by the Indian government. I don't know too much about this so don't take this all as fact.

Thing is, I just wonder how this is all possible.
