Illaramendi would be great, but first we need to get rid of a few players in there. (I sound like Galliani now)
Anyway, Illara will be very expensive and we won't ever be ale to take up the buy-out clause even if we do get one. It's probably going to be over €20mil. He's also not the type of player we need in our midfield. I feel like we would be getting him just because of his apparent availability and not because of the true need of our squad.
Like I said, we should be looking at Clasie. Doesn't play for Real so he won't be overpriced like hell. He possesses more vision then Illaramendi and is better in the attacking phases for sure. He's got better ability to pick out quick vertical passes through the channels which is exactly what we need. Probably cost between 10 and 15mil and depending on his contract situation maybe even less.
Great to see you return Geo. On Cerci I can understand the Inter transfer being permanent is enticing, but to enter a "war" with Atletico and force a move wouldn't be a smart idea. It sounds like it's unlikely to end this way anyway.
On Illarramendi, I'm with nefremo mostly. His permanent transfer seems unlikely at best and is probably a price the club can't afford anyway. That said, if there's a possibility of taking him permanently that's not insane, I'd take him without too many questions. The way I see it is De Jong's renewal looks quite unlikely and Illarramendi would be an ideal replacement, both for his defensive qualities, but also his ability to pick passes (his value is usually in his play in deep areas). nefremo, on Clasie I see your points, though unless Inzaghi plans to use him as a mezzala (not his best role imo), I think the same problems would be faced as getting Illarramendi. A guy like Isco would be perfect imo for this Milan side, though obviously that's simply not going to happen.

Classie I agree with totally could be one of players we invest in.Im at a loss really because its still going to be free signings swaps loans with the odd Cerci Torres swap.I see some praising G other saying he did well (he did this time) but he does sooooo much bad its ridiculous.I mean while we signed Alex Menez Lopez in the summer we also brought in Armero Agazzi Torres VanGinkel for every good signing theres more bad signings.
I must be the only one that fear the worst (owning Torres just to get stuck with him)?

Now, we're linked with Antonelli (again !!) ... This guy has really improved this season (and last season too I think), I think he would be perfect for our LB position and would be a real threat for De Sciglio for a starting spot.

I globally like our side, with a lot of players who are not star players but could clearly become some if everything goes well (3rd place, then qualifying for CL).
I think Bonaventura is underated. Menez has a lot to prove. Montolivo seems to be back with a fighting spirit. ELS, despite an average start of season (I hope this missed goal against Inter won't make him turn into a Niang), can still develop in the player we all want him to become. Diego Lopez is now an asset, and having a great GK helps a lot to give confidence to your defenders (Mexes hadn't become the worst defender in the world all of a sudden, nor did he become a good defender again all of a sudden).
The basis is there. If a guy like Illaramendi is added, it will be a huge improvement over guys like Essien or Muntari.
Anyway, after 4-5 months of Serie A, does someone remember Cristante ?
We (me included) all bashed the management for that move to Benfica, but the way his career goes (seems he doesn't get any minute in Portugal) and given the performances of Bonaventura, I have to admit I don't miss him.
