Summer Mercato 2011
Last rumor said we offer 30 mil euros plus two players from Emmanuelson, Strasser, Merkel and Paloschi. I hope we can get Fabregas with money plus Emmanuelson goes there, not giving our own products.
"When Costacurta and Maldini won they didn't celebrate much. They were thinking about winning the next game" - Alessandro Nesta
Of those 4 players I would rather not give up Merkel. He has the potential to be a starter in some seasons. Emanuelson would be my first choice from those.
Witsel is definitely not the "Gift" despite what Galliani has said. He may be an investment, a cheaper alternative to Asamoah, since it seems we will not go for him now. I totally understand there are many players €8-15 Million who are very good players to replace our old guard. However, we need 1 star player who will take us to next level. If it's Fabregas, then perhaps we'll see Witsel, but don't expect to see anyone else (Ganso, Hamsik etc)

I saw that. The source of this is Tuttosport. In other words, just ignore it, it's a lie. That's the worst sports paper in Italy.
If Wenger wants players plus cash, then Barcelona will get Cesc, as Brojan is a much better player than those four.
I'm confident unless Bartha go HEAVY for Cesc, he's ours come end of august. All the same signs as with Ibra are there (Moggi constantly talking etc.)

He fits profile of Berlusconi 'champion/gift', he's liked ac milan, he is what we need (a conductor of midfield). I believe we will also sign someone like Witsel, and Galliani will claim the market is over, but we know how he works..

My question is.... is that enough? I don't think it is. I'd like one more creative CM in our rotation just incase. I am tempted to say ,get Aquilani if jube pass. His price will drop, he did have an excellent season.

A good article on him:

Saying Aquilani had a excellent season is bit over the top..dont you think??!!
No ho visto Superman volare, ma ho visto Super Pippo segnare. I supereroi esistono davvero.
Now we're linked to De Rossi, who meets all the requirements Allegri and Galliani have made (well, he has thick hair if he grows it).

Individually he did. He led Jube in tackles and completed 83% of his passes conducting jube. And he stayed healthy. Jube's problems were down to a) tactics b) defense and c) Del Piero having too much power/upper management being incredibly stupid

Guess excellent is a stretch but lets put it this way. better coach, better tactics he'll do very well. I wouldn't spend a lot on him cause of injury risks but he could be a steal cause his ability is world class

We are linked to Drogba. He'd be an excellent signing IF we sold Ibra to RM. He's 33, but he's got years in him, especially if we rotate. Also has a french passport

Let put it this way. If we sold Ibra. Let Cassano go (which might happen cause Prandelli wants him to start), we could get Drogba and either Guiseppe Rossi or Hulk (I really would like 1 left footed forward) and not really spend a dime.
