Negatives include mismanagement of the squad as a whole but there are single player deals that he deserves credit for. Galliani extracted some good deals. There were good players who would find other destinations but came here. Everyone from Lopez to even Ibra. One could argue Silva too.

Going back to the 80s and early 90s, Milan were a football power and name. The credit goes to the money available as much as any one individual. He had flops and non flops just like any other team, I don't thin k the percentage of flops vs non flops is that important. Milan certainly had the money - relative to other teams - to 'afford' a few flops anyway.

In other forums I have been reading a lot of people supporting Galliani and how he should stay. Not just trolling, but these people genuinely argue that Galliani hasn't done well coz he didn't have money. I am curious to hear the thoughts of guys here, coz from all the forums i frequent, i consider you guys to be the smartest set of Milanisti and I just love the discussions here.

IMO Galliani's actions (or the lack of them) are the cause for our decline since 2007. Starting from long, lucrative contracts to aging players to the 'Parametro Zero' era. I also think that Berlusconi (whose to blame as well) has been spending for years to cover up losses brought about by Galliani's incompetence and that's why the transfer kitty is so small. to sum it up, I think Galliani needs to leave as this one man dictatorship style operation doesn't work in modern football.

What do you guys think?

To to it seems really simple. Galliani was great as transfer negotiator, but he is a horrible CEO. He did not have as much money in recent years but he had some, and it ended up wasted on fodder players and covering loss. Apart from 1 or 2 good signings he seem to lost his magic transfer wise too. Time to retire.

I could really go into a long rant about Galliani, but instead will simply say that the past decade (which bear in mind is a third of his time in Milan) has been nothing short of shambolic from him, to the point where I really don't just question his work during this time, but really question whether he was that good since he joined.

Galliani wasted over 80 million on transfer fees and wages over the past years, on players that haven't played well or haven't even played at all. Most of them were washed up or genoa bench quality players. Galliani needs to go if you stick to the finances, 80 million would have gotten us a lot of young hot prospects like lukaku, Benteke, or Kevin de Bruyne (I am belgian).

He wasted a LOT of cash. Examples: Torres, Essien, Armero, Matri, Silvestre, Zaccardo, Taiwo, Muntari, Alex,...

Yes I consider Alex a failure, as there is better quality out there for his money.

I think this whole 'Let's get carlo, spend 120m and win something quick' is a bad idea as well. We'll be back to square one in a few years if we do not build from the bottom and have a concrete future in place. Just building a stadium (which is in itself in jeopardy) won't do shit by itself. Just buying some older big names won't do shit, even if we win the scudetto. We won it a few years ago, how did it help us?

Even if we win now, which is very difficult with Juve's dominance and their very well planned plans, we will just end up selling our new stars to cash in. this isn't a good plan at all. But then what do you expect from bunga bunga and bald fuck.

I am not happy with these developments at all. I am also scared that once Carlo turns us down, they will take forever to find a new coach, wasting valuable pre-season time. I also do not like the fact that they want to tackle the market first and then get a coach.

This carlo saga seems like Berlusconi propaganda. Bronzetti has been singing praises of Galliani all day. How Carlo didn't listen to any offers but Milan's, how he's never seen Galliani so determined. I am not buying any of this bullshit that Berlusconi, Galliani and gang are spewing forth. I am convinced that this is all for elections. On an election trail, why the fuck is berlusconi talking so much about Milan and resurrecting it. fishy.

I seriously don't see how much of a "quick-money investment" Milan is nowadays? because for in order to get back to making money in a profitable ways.. one has to invest heavily in the market, and mostly on the youth project.
either way, Milan, as a company, doesn't look likely to be making any profit any time soon. it'll take years to reach that... also taking Barbara's long and short term projects for the club into account.

So you say it's OK for Berlusconi to use the club for his short term political targets, instead of really building something for the future that can last. Wow. Just wow. Exactly the type of thinking got us into this mess.
