I saw Lucas again for Brazil yesterday and this guy impresses me everytime I see him. His pace and acceleration are huge factors on his game, but also his low centre of gravity and fight for the ball make him really hard to dispossess. At times it's as though he just drifts past opponents without any real effort. What impressed me most was actually how mature his play is for his age. He doesn't just want to take on opponents and knows how to control the tempo of a game. After coming on, he often controlled Brazil's game and directed attacks. His movement was also impressive as he cut in centrally to afford Dani Alves space on the wing.
I'm a little surprised at some of the comments on the forum yesterday. Firstly there's talk of playing like Barca and competing with them. Chances are next season we may only just be competitive against them, but I highly doubt we'll be at the same level. This will take a while yet to achieve because we only really just began our rebuilding process. Secondly, we cannot and should not try to play Barca's football. This is unique to them and was a football culture developed by the dream team from the early 90's (i.e. Cruyff's team). Milan has it's own footballing philosophies and identity, and it was mostly influenced by Sacchi during the late 80's early 90's. Allegri seems to be heavily influenced by both Capello and Sacchi in his approach to matches and ideas on the game. Therefore, I would rather see us follow our own path than try to emulate another side.

Forget comparing us to Barca the way the play is almost 50 years of hard work and dreaming.
Going back to the Ajax team Cruyff came up in to the total football Netherlands and Ajax of early 70's .
Then on to the V.Basten Ajax and Netherlands.
Cruyff then took this philosophy to Barca and came close with the dream team in the 90's.Guardiola learned from Cruyff and with Bakero and Luis Enrique they thought the youth players this style of play.
Added in great buys like Deco , Dinho , Marquez , Eto'o , Villa , Alves etc..it is finally working the total football philosophy.
This is something we are not even close to , we hold possession very well and have a style of play .With another few signings on midfield with we have we'll be in the hunt.
But to be doing what Bestelona are doing ATM will take 10-15 years to achieve properly , just like it has for them.
Scouting nurturing talent moulding you're club in a particular style of play and to really enjoy football in an almost family environment.
Is not something you can do in 3 mercato's.
Sure with say 2 great new players in midfield we will be really better off than last year, and quite capable of beating anyone.
But playing that beautiful Barca style takes a long long time to get right on a consistent basis .
Sometime I really don't understand the coach for Brazil. As they would rather have Lucas/liverpool instead of Fernado, Juculei or Sandro as starting DM for Brazil. Then there is Elano, who is a solid player but also miles behind Hernanes. What about this Fred, what happened to Hulk?

Barca do have a better TV deal but in terms of finances Milan is richer. I don't think it's even debatable. If Serie A gets its act together the TV revenue issue will improve relatively quickly too.
I think building an owning a new top of the line stadium would help as well. San Siro is a monument and all that, but the facilities are not up to date. Sorry, off topic...

This is where Juve currently have the advantage. We really need to sort our stadium out and be in the position where we're not paying Milan city council most of the gate receipts. From there you can invest in youth/players to have a solid future.
Btw - galliani only said we were in talks with standard liege. He never said witsel. Maybe the talks were about selling gooch to them.

Says here and on sports channels in England that Merda have offered £50 million (€56) for Fabregas.
Usually don't see things like this on Sky or ESPN without some truth.
Maybe that is why we are being linked with Ganso again.
Also
Liverpool are willing to pay more for Witsel ..that is on Football-Italia .
But they also were offering for Vargas on Friday again on Football-Italia .
