It is scheduled to be ready for 2018-19 season!

so it is three more years instead of 4, even better! :d

Hopefully we will make some new great memories before we move out of SS during these three years.

The 48K is too small. With good players coming in and the management winning back the confidence of the fans combined with the fact that they want to go big in Asia means that filling that up should not be much of a problem. The tickets for derbies and big games is going to be shit expensive. Imagine the derby Della madonnina- tickets will be sold out within hours.

I really hoped it would at least be as big as old Trafford. Let's not forget that even in Serie B days, we managed to fill San Siro pretty darn well.

If we can consistently fill a 48k stadium, I'd consider that a major success. 10 years ago we would usually have around 45k for matches against smaller teams, and that was when we had a successful team full of superstars. Obviously having a full stadium when we're playing teams like Chievo, Sassuolo, Verona etc. will look much better on TV than one that's only 2/3 full, and that's important for commercial reasons, especially now that we will be trying to promote the club in Asia. From a business point of view I think it makes total sense.

I agree : we only have a full San Siro against Inter, Juventus and sometimes Roma or Napoli. That's it. All other games are in a [15-25]K people nowadays.

We have to do like Juventus : a smaller stadium, higher prices, and a full stadium for almost all games (and you increase the price for the games against Inter, Juv, Roma, Napoli and Lazio).

Like Devoted said, on TV, it will be a lot better, and for the players too ... We won't have many more fans compared to nowadays, but the stadium will look full instead of 75% empty ...

Great news that this is finally looking set to happen. There are still some hurdles to pass, but most of the hard work seems done. On the 48,000 capacity issue, it seems a little low and I'd like to understand why it is the size it is. A few things that pop to mind are:

- Is it a fixed capacity or could it be scalable?
- How do the club intend to make money out of the capacity? Presumably it's to follow the Juve model to have large scale VIP seating.
- Is this as a reaction to falling attendances in Serie A? Clearly it is related, but is this a case that the club don't believe that in the future the attendances will rise significantly?
- Is this by design? They've always said that the project was to use the stadium for more than just football. Not a huge number of events would likely ever need a huge stadium, nor would people go for them as it might look bad. Therefore, is this the result of making the stadium suited for more than just football?
- Is the the result of economic analysis? The bigger the stadium, the bigger the maintenance cost. Was it that the cost of maintenance compared to potential profit didn't justify a bigger stadium?
- Was this the result of the location and the idea to fit within Milan, rather than dominate the city?

I suspect some or all of these points are the reason for the capacity. I also expect people, who know much more than me about this stuff, have worked out this is the best solution, as having a capacity of 40-50,000 always seemed to be rumoured. Also, this seems to me a decision made by clubs in Italy, as Juve also have a comparatively small capacity given their stature.

we have tv nowadays so 40-50k is reasonable imo, and judging from the design i dont think the capacity can be added more in the future (if you want to make it 60-80k),because the rear part of the seat is being used as something else, so i dont think we can add more seat more than 5k. the design is good, i like it, but isnt it just abit boring???

48k is totally acceptable and reasonable... we will make nice money just from the stadium, each season. For example, Juve currently earns 60 million euros/season just from the tickets, commercial space, store, museum and other stuff at the stadium. GDS and other newspapers are predicting that we could make even more money with this new project (at least 80 million/season).

after seeing the video from beppe i am 100% convinced that the stadium maintenance fee will be high, i can bet u on that, so much roof garden, so much lighting, and it looks like there will be a mall or public stores on the stadium as well.
