Summer mercato 2015
Just a hypothetical situation I thought about- They are trying to lure Ibra out from PSG. why not Thiago? Sure he would be expensive (though lesser than what they paid for him) and PSG wouldn't want him to leave but he keeps expressing his love for us almost every other month. Could they not try to lure him instead of Zlatan?

Maybe he just wants to play in the CL.

i want to ask a question, do any of you guys remember what pepe cost for madrid?? 30m right?
the madrid board was being asked at that time if 30m for pepe is overprice or not, so is it???
because before pepe play for madrid i dont even know the guy, i also think its overprice, but now, i think the price is quite fair.
the same with romagnoli, we dont know if he will be worth 30m or not in the future, or if we overpay for him now or not, atleast we bought an italian talent that is in the rise, whether its justified or not we will not know, we need to give the guy a chance 1st, and from the youtube video that i see ( i know its useless) i like him, yes 30 is to much right now, but in the future, he might cost more than 30m.

about sheva, when he 1st arrive here, he is not being operated as a striker if i remember correctly, he was put on right wing by zac, kind of blurry here.
According to La Repubblica, once the sale to Bee is completed Galliani will be given another 100 million to spend on the market. I don't know if it's true, but it would not surprise me either. They have some pretty serious plans for promoting the club in Asia, but to do that successfully we will obviously need to have a really good team too. I'm thinking that we could be in for some big surprises at the end of the transfer window.

We have 9 players for 3 Spots up top. If Ibra comes, that's 10.

I would have 4 Strikers and 2 Trequartisti

Strikers: Ibra, Bacca, L. Adriano, Niang
Trequartisti: Honda, Menez, Bonaventura
Midfield: Montolivo, Bertolacci, De Jong, Jose Mauri

Sell: Nocerino, Poli, Matri, Verdi
Loan: Suso, Cerci

I like Cerci, he's a RW Forward, and we won't be playing that formation. As for Suso, he's 21 years old and playing time would be nice for him.

In this scenario we need at least 1 more Midfielder, if not 2.

On the defensive side, Antonelli, De Sciglio are my FB's, with no clue as to who would start in the middle. I personally think we should go for Romagnoli AND Maksimovic, and sell Palletta, Zapata, Zaccardo, and Ely.

Overall, we need to overpay because of a decade of bad performances in the transfer market. Furthermore, we have done exceptionally poorly at developing youth (Gourcuff, Cristante, SES, Pato, etc)...

We need to build a squad which will guarantee us Top 3 .... so we have some work to do.

2 CB's, 1-2 MF's, plus Ibra
Let's see what we do...
One thing I absolutely agree with many (one being Reza) is that we must trust Mihajlovic, and there is no alternative. In that sense, if he does trust Cerci, then we will have to let him do so, even though I have my own reservations too.

We can try to set our stall, but most of these clubs don't seem in a position to be desperate to sell, in fact Roma are possibly the most willing.

On the names you mentioned:

- Savic: A decent defender but one I don't seeing particularly great and frankly it seems unlikely he'll leave for less than 15-20m at least.
- Umtiti: Lyon won't sell unless it's absurd bid. I reckon Lyon would expect nothing less than 40m.
- Doria: People talk about Romagnoli being a risk, but Doria's a much bigger risk right now, especially following the past year. His value may not actually be that high, but there's a reason.
- Nastasic: Non-Eu aside, he's literally just been signed by Shalke permanently. Why would they sell and even if they did, you're probably talking of a very high cost.
- Rudiger: Personally, I don't see anything special about him, but even then, how cheap and reliable will he be? I don't see him leaving for less than 15m and imo comes with a significantly greater risk than other options.
- Martins Indi: Again, I personally don't rate him as highly as others, but also I don't see him coming cheap, I think Porto would demand at least 20m.

My point isn't to say that these names aren't valid, but realistically the alternatives aren't particularly cheaper nor do they necessarily offer more guarantees. Thing is, money isn't Milan's biggest concern this summer and frankly if they intend to return to success (or at least CL football), they need to work to ensure they try to achieve their targets. Clearly with Mihajlovic the biggest target this summer is Romagnoli, so it's important for the club to do what's necessary to ensure this project is a success. Kondogbia, Bertolacci and Mauri were also clearly a part of this project and while we missed out on Kondogbia, we took what were considered necessary steps for the other two, such as overpaying or giving a contract to Mauri's brother. It's just the same for Romagnoli.

Chancel Mbemba is one I would add. He's a young central defender of Anderlecht, and he is as impressive as kompany when he was at Anderlecht. He' s available for 15m , I wouldnt mind taking the gamble on him, some other team for sure will this summer.

Been mentioned several times now that Thiago's wages would not fit with Milan's current wage structure. The club has been quite adamant in implementing this since the last years of Gattuso, Seedorf and Pirlo. They are definitely not going to make an exception with Thiago, not if they didn't do that with Kaka either. And I don't think Thiago would take a major paycut in his prime years just to come back. We're talking about from 6.5M a year to levels like Mexes' 2-3M? His love for the club isn't THAT deep.
We got the young 'un's. We take out big gunz  Devilcool

Yes, he may. if he is so upset, he may resign. Is that what you want? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? Angry Stitch says: YES!

Do you remember how much Johnathan Woodgate cost Real? How about Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Barca? My whole point about the Romagnoli is, he is a very good prospect and I would love to have him on board. But at 30M the risk is higher. For all we know, that 30M might be the only big money defender we will get in the next 10 years (Berlu doesn't like to spend on defenders). And if the coaching staff and management has enough reason tot hunk this guy is going to be a superstar, then by all means, pay 30M. But if there is any doubt about his development curve, and for 20 year olds with so little experience, there are always doubts, then maybe it isn't the worst idea in the world to have a Plan B. Buying young players is always a gamble, but you still have to take calculated risks instead of going head first for the first bet that looks good. Just my two cents.
