Chancel Mbemba is one I would add. He's a young central defender of Anderlecht, and he is as impressive as kompany when he was at Anderlecht. He' s available for 15m , I wouldnt mind taking the gamble on him, some other team for sure will this summer.

Isn't he the one who had all sorts of controversy about his age as he has 4 date of births?

Can't really comment on him as I haven't really watched him, I just know Newcastle were looking to get him.

Do you remember how much Johnathan Woodgate cost Real? How about Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Barca? My whole point about the Romagnoli is, he is a very good prospect and I would love to have him on board. But at 30M the risk is higher. For all we know, that 30M might be the only big money defender we will get in the next 10 years (Berlu doesn't like to spend on defenders). And if the coaching staff and management has enough reason tot hunk this guy is going to be a superstar, then by all means, pay 30M. But if there is any doubt about his development curve, and for 20 year olds with so little experience, there are always doubts, then maybe it isn't the worst idea in the world to have a Plan B. Buying young players is always a gamble, but you still have to take calculated risks instead of going head first for the first bet that looks good. Just my two cents.

woodgate LOL, u make me remember some beautiful stuff here (beautiful negative that is) real spending so much money on him and he flop big time, yes 30m is big and risky, romagnoli can turn to be another woodgate or he can be another pepe, atleast we should try. and like you said, its almost never happen in our history to buy a defender for that kind of money.

Dunno, I never read that story. But I've seen him play many times, and he really is a very good player, he looks very ready to join a team in a big european league. But offcourse it will always be a bit of a gamble when a player joins from a small league ...
