Meant euros, not pounds. And I think that Bacca and Gundogan are the same caliber players (although Gundogan has won a World Cup). If Galliani can be smart and persuade Gundogan to come, I think this will also attract other big names to come for the future. Just wishful thinking though

Gundogan has not won a world cup.
A quick search brings up that Juve are after him for €25m.
It also brings up Chelsea Man Utd Arsenal and the fee ranges from €27m to €40m.

Gundogan is not a realistic option.Not for Milan.He also isnt a player that will have others wanting to come to play with him.He is very good & would be a great addition and improve us , but so would Ronaldo Messi Suarez Muller.They aint coming either.

This management does something bizarre every day. More talk of letting Paletta go when Romagnoli arrives, as if this logic is not bad enough then the talk is Paletta is worth 2 million, under 30 recent NT player is €2 million?

The meeting between Sabatini and Galliani is apparently underway. Let's hope it's sorted relatively quickly, not taking all night.

I can only assume by the latest rumours that Paletta is being sold as quickly as possible to keep the squad numbers close to 25, rather than demanding more and struggling to sell. On that note, apparently Zaccardo's reject Pune FC in India demanding more money.

Also Matteo Pessina, the kid signed around a month ago and was used in the first friendly of the summer, has been loaned out to Lecce for the year. Interesting choice, I thought he'd be in Primavera for at least this season.

Personally, I really don't rate him. I think Inter are making a mistake by getting rid of him, as he was ok at times last year and really wouldn't hurt to have in the squad as a backup, but for Milan I think we need better players as we need a starter.

Soriano looks most likely to be the midfield reinforcement this summer, which will no doubt leave many disappointed. I'm very mixed on the transfer, I just don't know if he can make the push to really be a top level midfielder, although he has some great qualities that the team could use. Basically, if he was brought in to improve the squad, I'd be very happy, but as a starter, I'm much less certain. If he can replicate last season's performances but just add greater consistency and a little more end product, you're talking about a fantastic player. Anyway, for those who haven't followed him much, here's a decent intro to him:

I couldn't tell if Romagnoli is overrated or not, but I am annoyed at us funding a direct competitor for their purchases. Maybe 20M for Bertolacci was already overpaid. How come we can't give our own youngsters some decent chance?

Like Siregar said, not many are ready for Milan yet. Milan might be struggling, but the pressures at the club are still immense. Bringing in a player without senior level experience to just slot in is very difficult, few are able to just make the leap and if you're not careful, you end up in a DES stage where when the struggles come it's difficult to get them back on track. The other aspect is we're not developing many top level CBs, the most realistic prospect being Ivan De Santis, who only turned 18 in May. That said, it's not totally true that we're not giving our own youngsters a chance. Obviously DES is our own, as is Calabria who will hopefully adapt to senior football this year and let's not forget, Rodrigo Ely is from our youth system. I think we don't seem to acknowledge them as much as we don't spend masses of money on them.

As the article somedevil posted on the EPL thread alludes to, there's a lot of hype and interest that the transfer market alludes to. Romagnoli is talked about because the club seem prepared to spend 25-30m on him, while Ely, who came for peanuts is barely recognised. It's conditioned in us that the more spent means the greater the quality, but in no shape is that true. Continuing with Romagnoli and Ely, Romagnoli is obviously ahead because he's got a full year in Serie A under his belt, but let's not ignore what Ely's accomplished over the past few years. He's been in the lower leagues and has often been consistently very good. Last year, in Serie B, he was recognised as one of the best CBs in the league. He's got a bright future and if we nurture him well, we could have a potentially great CB pairing with him and Romagnoli.

Actually, I'm even more hopeful than that, I want a Milan backline that in the next 2-3 years is made up of 3 homegrown talents and Romagnoli. It's not as difficult as you might imagine, with DES, Calabria and Ely all homegrown, while there are other prospects like Felicioli. Actually, in most cases our fullbacks are homegrown in recent years.

On Romagnoli, it looks like today is probably the day a deal will be struck. It looks like contractual details were sorted yesterday (I've read he'd earn 1.5-2m per year). It's expected the 25m offer will stand, with 2-5m being offered in bonuses.

If only we haver reserve or B team, like in England or Spain, players like Darmian, Aumbameyang might be still with Milan. Ely's progress seems good ang we gave not only single season to him to develop eventhough his real quality still doubtful for Milan standard. 

Really hate to see Milan product play great with other team (not with Milan) and it sounds silly hearing ex Milan primavera players join Milan and Milan have to pay (alot) to get them.

Romagnoli deal seems very close to being done now. Interestingly, it looks like Preziosi's joined the meeting as there could be more deals completed with him being interested in both Milan and Roma players.

Don't really blame him if I'm honest. Going to ISL is all but confirming his career at the top level is over, so he'll want to confirm at least he gets decent money from it. Bear in mind that he's still only 33, in his mind he'd probably want to believe he can play in Serie A for a couple of more years.

I want him gone as much as the next guy, but this guy should never have been signed in the first place, it's Galliani's screw up more than anyone's.

Siregar, I don't disagree about B teams. In all honesty, Ely's development until now has been dealt with very well. He's been growing and consistently playing in the lower leagues and proving himself. Question is whether he gets a fair chance in Serie A this year.

Reza, I've got to say the new quoting formatting is horrible. I tend to adjust quotes when I quote posts, usually to just make it a little easier to read. With Siregar's post, I was trying to remove all the previous quotes other than Siregar's post, but the thing kept messing up my formatting (I gave up in the end). Is this something that can be adjusted?
