I am preying for that just like last season with Ibra and Robinho then Borri and Hunter left in a matter of seconds.
There's no way Seedorf will be sold 2-3 months after signing extention. What's probably going to happen is that we get a LCM who's not a star player who will cost 10-15 million. But then we will also sign Ganso who wouldn't come until January. That's my current guess.
And there is no way we will get Cesc. I never believed it and I never will. Those who believe this should pass me the whatever you are using. We don't buy players of that caliber - we make them and then try to hold on to them.
Asamoah would be a quality buy because he's already shown he can play very well in Serie A and he still has potential to be world class. But if he just continues with the type of play he's already shown, we would still benefit. In other words, he's the least risk-vs-cost player of all the names we are linked to.
Hamsik would be ideal, but he's probably too expensive and there's obviously political issues involved when Berlu said to a napoli crowd at a political press conerence for a candidate (i think mayoral) that we wouldn't sign him (unless this election occurs before aug 31). Witsel is an complete risk - he may end up being the next Zizou, but just as likely he could be the biggest bust in the history of Serie A.
Seriously though, with just Asamoah and hopefully Ganso in January, we can have a pretty decent squad - both for italy and UCL. In the corporate world, we have the phrase "manage expectations". I think most MMers here should start doing that. Stop dreaming about multiple superstar players and start being more realistic. If we somehow got Cesc (and we won't). Then everyone can be pleasantly surprised.
