Galliani deserves the job as much as a corrupt politician. Spent so much on players that are actually ok but handcuffed ourselves for more necessary moves.
Look at what kind of players Inter bought to strengthen their attack, we should have done that in midfield. But, I knew Galliani will fuck it up in the end, it was too good to be true.

Should have signed Birsa. Two assists and a goal against Lazio last weekend. On Football-Italia's Team of the Week. I guess we couldn't get him either.

Yes, BUT, my point is that our problems mainly stem from the fact that the players we already have are scared to lose, and therefore they don't play with the right intensity and willingness to take chances. The only midfielder in our starting XI who I think is actually unable to help the team create anything offensively is De Jong. The rest of them have all the skills and abilities we need for a top 3 finish. Mihajlovic looked so frustrated after the Empoli match and said pretty much the same thing, that they all have the ability to do what he's asking of them, and that they do it in training all the time. Then when they take the pitch they play like they're terrified and don't actually enjoy playing football, they do nothing of what they were asked to before the match, and as a result we struggle when it comes to both defending ourselves and creating chances. I mean, really take a look at the situation over the last few seasons. We were absolute crap in 2013-14. The team struggled on the pitch, no significant players had been brought in during the summer, we changed coaches twice and the management was in disarray. A lot of things were wrong that year, but fact is that the squad was pretty much the same one that had qualified for the CL the year before. I don't really know what went wrong, but we should have been better than we were. Then in 2014-15, we brought in some solid, albeit cheap or free players such as Menez, Diego Lopez, Alex and Bonaventura. Pippo was also given the chance to coach the first team, and everybody was super enthusiastic. You would think that we were at least going to be quite a lot better than the previous season, even if a top 3 finish was probably too much to hope for. What happened? We actually did worse, both in terms of points and ranking on the table. Now it's 2015-16. We have bought two TOP class strikers in Bacca and Adriano, and Mario Balotelli, who does have huge potential. We've also brought in Italy's perhaps most talented young defender in Romagnoli. We've signed Bertolacci, who had a great season last year and recently became part of the national team, as well as Jose Mauri, who is another big talent who was wanted by several clubs. These players have already been brought into a squad of mostly quality international players. We complained about not having an experienced, quality coach last season. Now we do. If we are still playing just like we did last year, then that points to issues that have nothing to do with the actual skills of the players, but rather a problem that's more on a mental level. As much as I would have liked for us to sign Witsel, he would not have fixed those problems. I know us fans are traumatized by the last three seasons, and in all honesty I think the players are too. That is the only explanation I have for what's going on right now. There is no excuse for not completely dominating a team like Empoli at the San Siro with the players we have. But Empoli ran more, fought harder and took more chances, and in the end we were really lucky to win. They even had a 17 year old on the pitch! The question is, why don't we do what Empoli did, in every single match? Why don't we run more, fight harder and take more chances? Why are we so scared to lose that we become disorganized and don't take any risks? What we need more than anything, at this point, is a new attitude, not a new midfielder.

Well, we need good players with a new attitude. Bad players will get us nowhere no matter what their attitude is. Witsel could help us a lot.
Also this would have been perfect timing for Berlusconi to "come to the rescue" and flash his ego by splashing the cash.

It's not only the mentality of the players, we lack players that can hold the ball, that can create and make a killer pass, midfielders who are leaders on the pitch (Monto and De Jong are not that kind of players).

Another thing is that we keep seeing players who have left the club do much better than they did at Milan, and then we blame Galliani for selling them. Saponara is an excellent example, because he never impressed at Milan, playing no better or worse than anyone else at the club. At Empoli he is suddenly a great player, which is really frustrating for us. But I think at this point we need to ask ourselves why this is happening, why it is that not a single one of our players is able to perform to the best of his abilities at Milan.

![]() So Milan channel are trying to do this. Pretty pathetic really. Looks like something Galliani would've commissioned.

GALLIANI ON WITSEL: "We tried to the end, but we knew it'd finish this way."
He's such a clown. |
