The problem is they are all wingers except Kaka. Our DNA is 4-3-1-2. We already have enough starts in forward position. Robinho, Pato, ibra, Cassano.

We just need 2 players, LCM and CAM...

They are more than wingers, they are creative fast pace defence breaker with a powerful shot first.don't let formation restrict our thinking.

I personally assume robben and bale pair plus a tight defence might be has more chance of winning when we facing barca than ganso and cesc pair.I can't imagine to beat this barca with a milan backcort plus a arsenal frontcout.

don't fool yourself, Bale and Robben are no more than wingers, like it or not. They can't play in another role or position.

robinho is a winger too, kaka played as a winger in our CL winning season.

IMO, Robinho plays SS, but he was forced to play winger by Real.

Kaka sometimes played winger when Ronaldinho played because R.80 could only play AML/LF. However, that was not successful, except only the goal agains Inter (Kaka crossed, Dinho headed). In CL2007, he play RACM/SS while Seedorf played deeper LACM.

Bale is a pure winger, but Robben is more than a winger. The Dutchman can play SS. Holland usually use a penalty box striker (Nistelrooy, van Persie, Huntelaar), and Robben is the nearest to him.

Robinho likes to cut inside from the left but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a winger. I think that's the main reason why he never really shined in Madrid under Capello, a coach who loves to play 4-4-2. He's Brazillian and can dribble? Okay, let's put him on the left wing. Most of the times Robinho played there while Nilsterooy and Raul were the strikers. IMO Robinho played his best at SS as proven by his Santos' years and last season with us.

Your last claim about Kaka being a winger in our CL winning season is totally wrong IMHO. In fact, I never see him play as a winger. He either played as a lone treq in 4-3-1-2, or partnered with Seedorf in the Christmas tree formation and Pippo played as the lone frontman. The latter was our main formation in the latter stage of the competition including the final.

And, about the mercato, some interesting comments by Cassano's agent. Fiorentina has just sold Mutu anyway so I guess in the next few weeks this rumour about Cassano won't abate. While I still want him here (a big if surprising turn around since I was against his arrival six months ago) plus he seemed serene and never made a fuss, I can understand if he wants to leave.

robben definitely is not only a winger. he is not a pure ACM though, but he is the main offence initiater both in bayn and dutch NT. bale has the similar quality.

By 'winger' here I mean a pure winger. Somebody who operates on flank, makes dribble, hugs line, heading to corner spot and then crosses, maybe SOMETIMES cuts inside. Bale is that pure winger. Robben too; even though he has some abilities useful for him to play more central (good long shots, etc).

So, Kaka is NOT, and Robinho is also NOT a pure winger.

HOw can you say Kaka is a winger? Just b/c he cuts in from wide area does not make him a winger? He is a ACM that plays more on the left side of the field.
Robben is not a winger or ACM, as he is the main focus of his teams attack
OK, kaka is a ACM,but not a great one,in term of offence-organization and ball-distribution.he is more effective to play like robben, just as how ancelotti played him in our last CL winning season.

Is C-ronaldo a winger?

I don't care if they are wingers or ACMs or SS, they are most effective individual weapons in morden football, they can exploit most from half open court, that makes them ideal to counter barca's all time greatest team football.

ACM is not only what you described, it is more a playmaker. ACM could be also player who link the midfield with the attacker, which what Kaka did. His other job was to move sided, going to PK area to get chance to score, etc., something which not play-making the game.
