I wouldn't call what I said judging, including these 3 matches I have seen Ganso only 5 times.
Based on what I have seen I have doubts, that's all.

This just hits me. Maybe all along the LCM role is actually a smokescreen for Milan. When you actually look at all the midfielders being link to Milan none of them play in that role. Actually they all play in a more central role.

Personally, I think the formation might be more like this.

I know this is not the formation that won the league for Milan and why would Max change a winning formation....but this formation can work and most importantly, Milan only needs to sign ONE GREAT player to upgrade the starting 11.
I also know that Max tried it last year and failed, but it was mainly due to not having a player like MVB and injuries.

That leaves only one backup of two wing-forward position (two of Cassano/Pato/Robinho play and the rest is a sub), we need to buy somebody else then. Okay you may count El Shaarawy, but that's still too risky, one sub for each wing and that's all we have (no other player at all). And from this fact I know that this won't be our new formation: management wanted to swap Cassano for Montolivo (if goal.com can be trusted). No way we plan to use two wing-forwards if we sell one we have and don't plan to buy new one... And even if it's true (we sell Cassano and then buy other wing forward), your argument that we only need one more great signing with this formation, fails.

Besides, (Allegri also know that) Pato prefers centre forward role and will not take a wing position too kindly, such as under Leonardo's tenure. Pato often express that he is comfortable in no.9 position, and I agree with him, he won't fulfill his potential on the wing.

IMO, better doubt first believe latter. Ganso will have 1..3 matches to prove me wrong.

I still think LCM is our first priority. We bought El Shaarawy for a creative ACM, so this position is quite crowded and varied.

Doubting a player is very normal especially if the player is young and from other league but judging the quality of player based on only 3 of his latest game is another issue.

I agree about LCM priority. I also think that we have option for CAM although it is not for now since Shaarawy is still very young.

What if the plan is to convert Ganso to regista just like Pirlo?

Kaka link getting stronger, 30million euros is apparently being ready to be offered to Real for him.. I wish this wasn't true, I love kaka and all he's done for us in the past but that's why we should leave it in the past.. We saw what happened with sheva i think kakas return will be similar but we wont have 30 million euros to spend.. I hope we're seriously after schweinsteiger

I think the smartest thing to do would be to buy schweinsteiger as our left midfielder , and try getting kaka on loan for acm to give sharawy some time , once kaka is gone next season buy ganso then we'll have many options

Ganso for brazil and Ganso of Santos is like Messi for Agentina and Messi for Barca... this "new" Brazil isnt any team to judge a player per say.

First off, there is El Shaarawy as you mentioned. Then there is also Urby.

It is not a pure wing, more like how Villa and Pedro play at Barca. They come in from wide area and cut into the box, something that both of them do anyway..

As for Pato being a No. 9. I think he needs to learn more about playing with his partners before hand, IMO, he is saying he wants to play theCF role bc he does not want to learn and develop more in his game. I think Pato can be the next great CF but he needs to learn to play with his team instead of trying to dribble and out run everyone.

the only reason why the Pirlo/regista thing worked was because Pirlo was at his peak and was surrounded by a bunch of WC players and the whole system was new to all opponents so it worked brilliantly.....however, after the level of players dropped and everybody figured how to play against this system it became a burden leaving Pirlo & the rest of the back line exposed...so I would not want to see that again. It was a stroke of genius by Carlo at the time but it is totally dependent on having everything/everyone working perfectly for the regista to control the game which we were lucky to have back then.

This current formation can work even if MVB does not have the WC Gattuso/Seedorf on his side (as we saw this year) which is safer and can still get us to the top.

I agree and i think Kaka will be considered as a plan C probably and I wouldn't mind at all having him on loan if it fits the plan of getting Bastian in the summer.
