Hey, what about displayed the number of post. Maybe between the 'Location' and 'Favorite Player'. Thanks.

yeah...sorry about that...but in the past people used to have one word posts just to increase their post number......i was very irritating...thus the reason we took it out..

plus...at the end of the day it's not about the number of posts that u have, more so it's about the quality...if u have 100 posts and they are of op quality , where u pose good questions , ideas or bring up good point to discuss...in all honestly we rather read that i view you more seriously than someone who cheif purpose is just to air political differences or use the forum for name calling ....

undertsand what i'm saying?? :D:D:D:D..

so forget the number of posts.... :D..plus i have much more than u anyway :D

Number of posts...you want it showing for all to see? Sorry, the answer has been and remains NO. We still have people posting one-liners, I'm sure we all do it from time to time, but a few years ago we had a small group of posters who did nothing but one liners all day every day only b/c they thought it made them look wonderful to have a high post total. Abuses like that led us to hide the count. As has been pointed out, quantity means nothing, we'd really prefer quality.

And once again someone complains about the "poor quality" of posts here. Well, that's everyone's problem to solve. Complaining about it does nothing, sorry. It's action by all members that will solve that one. :1whis:

1) Can't you ban those people?

2) As long as Crespo scores and Milan won. Whining will stop. Ask Bman.

Yeah, exactly what I mean... but this site belongs to Diavolo.... so something more evil should be considered(& a special title for me!:D:devs::D) .... definitely not that "Club Owner" and the rest of the "manager" "coach" crap (pardone me :tong: ;)).... or just bring back junior member/member/senior member schema.

Maybe we could use symbols,(like avators next to your name) just like them on the Milan banner.
There are stars and cups for CL, WC, Supercoppa and scudetto of course.
You can count them for example....the longer your membership, the more symbols you get.
There can also be a symbol for good posts etc.etc
The devil should be reservated for the mods or otherwise very tough to get, this could be a way to make some people watch their behaviour.

Guys, I wanna revive this old thread cuz I got an idea how to sort members of MM.Don`t forget we have to have a title DIAVOLETTA as well :)Sandrita is right. Diavoletto/a or Diavolino/a can be a fist rank, then Diavolo/a and finally Diavolone [if it is possible in italian].

When a member is widely known and respected by forum society, he can apply for cutom-everlasting rank title. For instance he should have posted for more than a year or 1000 posts. Nevertheless admins [Reza :D & co.] should ponder if that particular person is worth to wear his own custom title. I mean he has to be a quality poster to gain that privilege. Then he has to state what exactly he wants to put upon his nickname. And admins fulfil his wish.

By the way we can ask forum society to offer these titles for particular member, and if he agrees with an offered one we make a poll where other members can coicide or not this a praticular rank title [we have such experience in our own local lithuanian football forum] though do not think it's necessary.

Anyway, I hope you to pay attention to my proposition and state yer point of view or new, improoved ideas... everythings is to be discussed, we're in democracy ;) :hopefull:

I think that's a great idea ...

Most football sites do things like Trialist, Youth Team Member, Reserve Team Member, First Team Member ... levels that are reached after you post a certain number of posts. So we could do something like that for most people and then for the people who have the large amount of posts, let them have the custom title ??

SANT
20-03-2006, 02:47
Yes, just let's not sacrifice quality aiming for quantity...

I am sure several members who are not really 'admired' by the crowd have a ton of posts...

Let's have titles associated with quality of the members' posts.

We shoulda distingush our site with a new generation of ranking system :D

And yes, Sant, a costum title IMO should get only quality posters. About ranking system I do not have particular idea... maybe anyone has and can suggest us ;)

Debs
20-03-2006, 08:02
Yes, maybe we should re-instate some sort of ranking system, and maybe we have some creative minds to help us with this little chore. I do hesitate to create a system based on quality, as that really is a very intangible and highly subjective "thing" to judge. What about revamping the old system we had, which had titles like youth player, rookie, vet and so on. I don't remember all the steps we had....I remember there was captain....Rez, anyone, can you recall all the steps we had.

My other concern tho, when people start talking about ranking is to base it on number of posts alone. Can we come up with a system that, as rae suggested, includes length of membership here at MM? Applying for the ranks might also be an idea to consider. Please discuss, this is Hell Week for me as our play opens in 4 days and the woman I help with costumes just had a second surgery for cancer. She's upbeat and thinks she'll be in today but I'm trying to lighten her load as much as possible. :w163:

What if we had a star under our name for each year we've been a member ? So if you've been here 5 years, you have 5 stars, that kind of thing. It would be relatively easy to do i'm sure, it shouldn't be much different from the green respect blocks.

Another idea might be to have say 100 unique titles, like 'Milanista Queen' or 'Fossa dei Leoni Admiral' ... things like this and then people can choose the one they want and know that no one else can have it.

Some sites use the number of posts made as currency which can be used to buy things to customise your avatar/change your user name colour, these kinds of things.

Or we could try and think of something different altogether.

pa7uel
20-03-2006, 15:31
Well a nice thing could be that who ever has 1000 posts or more(this numbers are an example they might be a little exagerate) gets an Scudetto by his name, and who ever has more than 2000 gets a star, and who ever has 3000 or more gets 2 stars, sort of like what they do in Calcio with the trophies that a club has won.
And another thing we could do is vote for someones title, having some options, something like we do now with the reputation points, but more fun. The options could be : ''capo di tuti capi'', ''fuori classe'', just for making an idea.

I don't remember all the steps we had....I remember there was captain....Rez, anyone, can you recall all the steps we had.Well, I shoulda remind that I have suggested one already... with Diavoletto, Diavolo & Diavolone system. First one you'll get the moment you register and post yer first post here. Second when you have posted here more than 500 posts and been active for more than a year. The third rank is when you have posted more than 2000 posts and been active more than two years. What if we had a star under our name for each year we've been a member ? So if you've been here 5 years, you have 5 stars, that kind of thing. It would be relatively easy to do i'm sure, it shouldn't be much different from the green respect blocks.Great idea though I think it would better to use stars as an award of winning the prediction league ;) Another idea might be to have say 100 unique titles, like 'Milanista Queen' or 'Fossa dei Leoni Admiral' ... things like this and then people can choose the one they want and know that no one else can have it. However we have more than 100 member here :undecide:Some sites use the number of posts made as currency which can be used to buy things to customise your avatar/change your user name colour, these kinds of things.Actually I do not get yer point very clarely... is it when you post some amount of posts you can sell then in order to acquire posibility change yer rank or it's colour etc. ?Or we could try and think of something different altogether.Definately we should try to do SOMETHING! ;)Well a nice thing could be that who ever has 1000 posts or more(this numbers are an example they might be a little exagerate) gets an Scudetto by his name, and who ever has more than 2000 gets a star, and who ever has 3000 or more gets 2 stars, sort of like what they do in Calcio with the trophies that a club has won.Great idea, though I prefer only little scudetto logo upon yer rank title ;)And another thing we could do is vote for someones title, having some options, something like we do now with the reputation points, but more fun. Guys, I shall open new thread with a poll to ask if members coincide with a custom rank title for our forum leaders. We'll discuss it there. ;)

Jim_UK
21-03-2006, 14:42
The thing with the 100 custom titles is that they'll only be awarded to people who have posted say 1500 posts or something, that way there'll be enough custom titles to last for a while. And when they do run out, we'll think of some more.

The idea with the posts as money is that say you have posted 1000 times, you have $1000. With that $1000 you can buy things for your avatar or name or whatever ... for example it might cost $400 to change the colour of your name from red to a colour of your choosing, things like that.

These are just suggestions though
