Ajax youngster Wesley Sneijder believes he has what it takes to become a major player in the European game with Milan.
The Italian giants have been strongly associated with the 21-year-old and he insists he’s ready to follow in the footsteps of numerous Dutchman to have signed for the Rossoneri.
“I’m honoured by the interest of Milan, they are an absolutely fantastic club,” commented the midfield sensation.
“I think I am prepared for such a big move even if I have to underline that the decision regarding a potential transfer is not made solely by me.
“Until there is something defined then there is really nothing more that I can say about it at all.”
Milan are looking to freshen up their midfield options, with Swiss international Johan Vogel assessing his future after failing to win a regular first team shirt.
The latter, who was a January transfer target for Manchester United, arrived on a free last summer from PSV Eindhoven.

Good news, but I dont want Vogel to leave.

Oh i hope Vogel stays with us next season, Onto Sneijder he's a great player and still only 21 years old if Rui Costa moves on in the summer it makes it likely that we will get a new AM to cover for Kaka. I would like to see Sneijder in a Milan jersey next season: it would be a great move for Milan and him.

We need Sneijder for the place of Rui because he is a future player like Gila and Kaka!

Yeah, it's good to see that we are starting to build the future Milan: Gila in the attack, Kaká and Sneijder in the midfield....but we still need someone at the back, a young, talented defender. I hope we find it soon!
we need replacement for Seedorf, becouse from now on, his game will only go down. you'll see it.
Maybe Sheijder is just that. I know many regard him as an attacking midfielder but I think he can play anywhere in the midfield except on the wings. I think Seedorf has a lot left in him however. He has been a bright spot this year.

Seedorf will not be going down. I am also against buying Sneijder but rather getting players like Alex and Chivu. If we were to go for a midfielder, we better go for players like Aguero. I've seen Sneijder play, he's good technically, but really nothing so special about him. We also have Jankulovski, I mean, we all saw him play last year and he was absolutely fantastic.. I hope he will find his form sooner or later because the press will attack him soon for his performances.

I hope Vogel stays with us.
Snejder is an interesting player but not one of those you must buy right now. So many players got the spotlight in the past and now have faded out.. D'Alessandro, Van der Vaart, Diego.. all players that on MM were labelled as MUST buy :sun:
The human being is very volatile :sun:
d'alessandro and van der vaart play for small club! sneijder is very good player, but i havent seen him playing often enough to judge whether he is good enough for us or not.

sneijder is relly replecment for clarence!!
he plays in holland nacional team on his position
I think Sneijder is a class player, potentially a very very good purchase if we can get him. I also agree that Seedorf has a lot left in him. His ability on the ball is just magical and the way he can loose players by moving his shoulders or hips! I think he would be very hard to replace.
If Rui goes then we do need someone else to cover Ricky and Sneijder isn't a bad option.

yeah right I aslo think that sneijder is a great player with good technically big potentially he can play support attack with kaka, he can replace seedorf but i dont think seedorf will leave us, I m sure.
what about Van der Vaart very very great player he is doing so well at hamburg ???
if Rui leaves this summer we would need a replacement for him and Sneijder is a great option but he wouldn't get much playing time and that's not good for a young player, maybe we could loan him for a season or two to some italian team to adapt to the style of play.
and about Van der Vaart he's still a great player and he's doing great with Hamburg i would like too see him in Milan more than Sneijder but i don't think it will happen
Van Der Vaart never faided. He is one of the main reasons why Hamburg is doing so good this season in Germany. VDV is a great player and I think he made a mistake by going to HSV. If he stayed in Holland for another year or two he could have gone to one of the giant clubs. He is very young however and I don't think he'll stay at Hamburg for much longer.
But there is big question that surrounds Sneijder, and that is - can he phissicaly play in serie a against Emerson,Vieira,Dacourt...... He is not a strong player, he is young I know, but he needs to be built like Seedorf to playat highest level. Even Pirlo has problems becouse of that, and he is here for years. I would like a tougher CM.

good point. that's one of my concerns regarding Sneijder. The other is he seems prone to injuries and that may become even more of a problem in a physically demanding league like Serie A.
I know we need a RB and a CB, but why cant we go for a real class player like Lampard,Gerrard....? a player that can improve our team drasticaly.

Where can Gerrard improve our team he wouldnt even get in my Milan team with Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso and KAKA!! He's so overrated here in England. :p231:

I know we need a RB and a CB, but why cant we go for a real class player like Lampard,Gerrard....? a player that can improve our team drasticaly.
for two reasons:
1) unless they are free agents, players of that calibre would cost a good-sized fortune which we could use for rebuilding half a team
2) your point that "they will drastically improve our team" is a pure speculation as there are so many uncertainties and unknowns involved when one player changes not only a team but a whole culture, a whole style of life. On paper, things look very simple - we get someone like Dinho, Lampard, Ballack, Gerrard and the new Milan is miles ahead of the current team.
In reality, however, things are very, very different - there is no guarantee how that player will fit our system, Serie A, or how well he would addapt to life in Italy in general (see Crespo in England). What I mean is that the Dinho from Barca and La Liga can be very, very dif from the one in Milan and Serie A, same goes for every other great player.
Then, as long as football is played by 11 vs 11, when you add a new player, you have to take someone out - you gain some and you lose some. What makes you think that the gain will indeed prove to be so much greater than the loss, so that it can justify making a financial harikiri by going for someone like Dinho, Lampard, or Gerrard, provided that they are available at all, which is also a very important factor ... actually, when it comes to getting your hands on such important players, availability is, most of the time, the most important factor of them all.
You are right, we do need to pick up players that are free and that will fit our sistem. That is why I DIDNT mention Ronaldinho, he cant fit in our game. with him we would have to play 4-5-1. My personal oppinion is that Seedorf needs to be replaced, and that is the only way to refresh our CM. He is getting slower and slower, cant hold the tempo for 90min. Of course, he is top quality player so he does play some great games for us, but soon, he will fade away. Gerrard overrated? I dont think so, he can pass, shoot, DEFEND WELL, and has some real power in him. Just what we need. He can protect Pirlo better than Seedorf. He would cost us some big money of course, but you need to pay if you want class. Sneijder cant make instant impact in Milan, right now he cant play at this level. But he is young and certanly has some potential. We dont need overrated superstars, of course, but refreshment is needed every year. Next year in RB and CB + I think we need a CM. Anyway, sneijder can play as kaka's sub, now when rui is almost gone. He can develop well in Milanelo. Im only worried by the fact he is not strong phissically enough for Calcio.
The only English players good enough for Milan are Gerrard and Rooney. Gerrard would actually fit into the Milan team well on the right hand side of Pirlo, but its not going to happen. He will end his career at Liverpool.

i think that is not a good idea to buy Sneijder many players now in milan are superior at this player.
forza milan for ever :5guitar: :5schal:
But there is big question that surrounds Sneijder, and that is - can he phissicaly play in serie a against Emerson,Vieira,Dacourt......
Neither is Fabrigas but last night he owned the midfield and completely outplayed Emerson and Viera!
if were going for a player like sneijder we might as well go for someone who has more experience, stronger physicality, and also versatile like ballack
In what areas are Seedorf and Gattuso better than Gerrard Milan Mad ?
We need more pace and 'bite' in our midfield, but this has to be coupled with skill. Pirlo has the skill but no pace or tackle, Seedorf has the skill and can tackle a bit but has no pace ... and Gattuso has a bit more pace and tackle but no skill ... It's a puzzle we need to solve
after todays performance, i agree that what we are missing is the tenacity, i think diarra should be our main target, he shut down kaka today, and he started plays, i doubt he gave away a pass, hes feroucious, i want him, cris was also good but i really like fierce players and i prefer alex.

[QUOTE=Jim_UK]In what areas are Seedorf and Gattuso better than Gerrard Milan Mad ?QUOTE]
For a start i just can't see him leaving Liverpool,
I admit Gerrard has more scoring capabilities than both Seedorf and Gattuso but in work rate, stamina, pace, tackling, influence, aggression thats just what you need in your team and thats what Gattuso has and i love him for it. Onto Seedorf who is a little bit of a weak link for Milan for me is still a great player with Passing, Flair, and experience all better than Gerrard: Stevie may have a better shot than the 2 but we don't really need goals from our workers Seedorf and Gattuso.
I'd prefer Ballack to replace Seedorf. No disrespct to the great clarence i'd just love Ballack in a Milan shirt.
Diarra did brilliantly as always today. I can clearly see him as our DM, no problems in creativity too.

Maybe ur question should be can he replace Gattuso? ;)
I can't see him leaving Liverpool either, but as this is all hypothetical that's not the issue.
Gerrard has the same amount of work rate, stamina, passion and aggression as Gattuso and probably more pace and a hell of alot more influence. As for Seedorf he does have more skill with the ball, i think he can be alot more intricate and delicate with his play, however i think in passing terms Gerrard is equally as good if not better. I completely disagree with your point about not needing them to score goals, everyone is needed to score goals no matter where you play. At this point in time, apart from experience which you can only get through age, i can't see any other realistic argument for saying Gerrard couldn't get into our team.
I'm still talking point 1 here Zlatanov, so the adaption rule doesn't count yet :D
Gerrard has influence in Liverpool as he is captain there and grew up in the Liverpool ranks. That makes a huge difference. In Milan he wouldn't have any where near that influence. Look at Viera, when he was injured Arsenal looked average, he had such influence on them. Now he is gone and Henry has that standing. Viera on the other hand has very little influence in Juve because he is not there even a year and doesn't have the standing in the club yet!
I agree though I think what we miss and lack is the steel the bite and the player that stands up and roars at his team mates during a bad game. We don't have that and we need that. I think Gerrard would be great I would love to see him in a Milan shirt but he aint leaving Liverpool.

i think sneijder more useful for milan than gerrard. this season seedorf hasn't showed up his best. so i think milan need another player who play the same role with seedorf and the man is sneijder. more competitive for milan squad, more option for carletto

because ballack is 30 yo and to have him we would have to spend 30 mil euros ... actually a lot more than that 'cause he seems to be already Chelski's and the figures mentioned in that contract are just mind blowing. In Ballack's case it's not just you want a player and you go get him, it's not a question of him not being a very good player but a question of investing unreasonable (that was the case even before Chelski got involved, let alone after that) amounts of money in a player who has mostly 2 (might not be even that many) seasons of top football left in him.
2 years??... BS, we have always gone for players at that age and they all seem to perform, the question of age is of no interest to me to be honest, as long as he can play im fine, and from what ive seen of him he seems very fit and he can go on another 4-5 years... and as for his wages, i really doubt he wants that much, well yeah offcourse hed want that but only chelsea would offer that, if its money hes after, ok screw him... but we should atleast offer him a realistic contract and see if hell accept or not.
besides, if its not ballack, id put diarra waaaaaaay ahead of sneijder

I agree for Diarra but if Rui leaves we will need a player that is more attack minded and Diarra doesn't fit this description.
As for how many years Ballack's got left, just because we have maldini, Billy, Sergio, don't forget that they are exceptions to the rule rather than the norm. IF, and that's a big IF, Ballck is one of those players blessed to perform equally well at 34-35 yo as they did in their late 20s, you are right that it would be worth at least making an effort to get him. But how many players are like Billy, Sergio, or Paolo? Not that many really as the majority gets a trip down the hill once they are 32 or so, and the amount of money that's involved in this deal would simply make an investment like this "unreasonable" to say the least.
well if there was someone i had hoped to agree with me on this it is usually you... ur policy on age has changed alot from last year :D
zlatanov

well if there was someone i had hoped to agree with me on this it is usually you... ur policy on age has changed alot from last year :D
it's not about the age, mk18, I would love to have a 30 yo ballack if we would have to invest say 15 mil or so in him over 3-4 years. but the money we would need to fight Chelski off him is rumoured to be 3 times that.
Now, this type of money for a 30 yo player is simply insane business.
In this deal tehre are two important factors for me - age and money. If it were age alone, I would fine with it considering how good Ballck is, but you add the "money" in there and it's just a deal not worth even discussing ... I guess that's why galliani never really involved Milan with being even remotely interested in ballack.
which makes me go back to my point which i infact mentioned alot of times before, if its money hes after screw him, but if hes ready to have a reasonable contract then we should definatly get him, it all starts by offering him a contract in the first place, or atleast show an interest
Problem:
We need an attacking player to replace Rui, Ballack is old and Chelsea will raise the price to a ridiculous amount.
Solution:
Let Chelsea have him and go get Juninhio who is a better player anyway.
but juninho is just as old and isnt even free!

In Juninho's case being not for free would mean we will have to pay probably less than 10 mil (~8), if it's more than this than Milan will simply NOT buy him. With wages, that would go up to say double that 15-16 mil.
In Ballack's case, "free" meant - before Chelski got involved - investing in him 30 mil on wages. Now that Roman is in the picture - and both sides have proclaimed their admiration of one another - that sum went up to more than 40 mil (45 mil I think) as Chelski are likely to make Ballack one of the highest paid players not only in England but in the world.

Alot of flirting going on between Aguero and Liverpool, and all we can do is just sit and dream of signing 30 yr-old Oddo. We're never linked with whizkid's like Aguero, Messi, Kerlon etc, why? I mean, we got Kaka and Gila, great, bravo, well done to milan board, but why dont they get other players with potential like them? I dont understand.. Sneijder is no where like Kaka, Kerlon, Aguero or Messi.. He's simply another Seedorf.. i'd prefer Ariel Robben (who was reported having probs with chelsea) over SNeijder ANYDAY..

One player that was linked to Milan last week, and I will love to see in our team(more than Sneidjer) is Tiago Motta.
The problem is that he´s injure prone...but, I was thinking, after saw 4 or 5 Barca players injured every year, maybe isn´t Motta fault??? Who knows...even Barça players are bashing the trainners/doctors of the club...
I saw also an rumor in a Barcelona periodic(Sport), that Barca will make a bid for Chivu. Poor guy, if he´s injure prone now, imagine in Barcelona :googly:

The reason why we dont go for too many young players is that we are AC Milan and we demand success every season....something that experienced players can help more with. The only yongstres we buy are top of the class, as you stated Gila and Kaka. They are world class players, b4 they got to Milan, we have just made them better.
If milan bought all young players, a few people on here would be rapt, but if results dont go our way, i wonder how many would still defend that policy?
Milan dont have 'time' to give so many youngsters an opportunity to shine here....when you come to Milan, you make an impact straught away. How many youngsters has Milan loaned out that have actaully come back and played for us lately, i cant remember many if any. It all gets back to the level of success the club and its supporters expect every season. Let Parma and the like give them experience, let us buy then when they are about to become world class.
My thing is going for a mix of players. Young and experienced, like we have at the moment. Well, thats what i think anyway....buy the best of the best of the young guys and buy players who are developing into world class players that Milan can develop that bit further to make them World Class.

Ofcourse i dont mind buy a whole team of youngsters like Arsenal, i mean, like buy a whizkid such as Aguero, who is going to be one of the football greats no doubt, once in a while.. we got Kaka, thats great.. i congratulate them, but this does not mean we should sit back and just let our competitors get the new younger and better players.. i really think we should at least put in an effort, and maybe, just maybe, we can get players of these calibre for cheap

As Zlatanov said Ballack isnt going to be free. If everyone seems fine with Ballacks age then whats the problem with Juniinhio who coers more of the pitch anyway.

Essien was sold for twice his market price and that was only because Chelski got involved, that's why it is hard to fathom. Plus he is a good player with most of his career before him.
JP is 30 yo now, probably closing in on 31 and no player of such age other someone like Sheva or Dinho would cost that much. Plus a player costs as much as the highest bid. That's why I said that if he is more than 8-10 mil, Milan won't even bother negotiating for him as he would be more of a short-term replacement for Rui, unlike Kaka, whose best is yet to come.
My guess is that the only way this could be done is if JP himself asks Lyon to sell him to Milan, he's been there for quite some time now, there is a good chance they may try to satisfy his wish. Otherwise it won't be a deal that Milan will find financially attractive.
Oh I give up, why dont you just say you disagree rather than nitpicking at little points :hammer:
well to be honest i dont mind having juninho at all though i doubt hed come here
Gerrard overrated? I dont think so, he can pass, shoot, DEFEND WELL, and has some real power in him. Just what we need. He can protect Pirlo better than Seedorf. He would cost us some big money of course, but you need to pay if you want class.
PLease don't ever use the word defend together with gerrard. he can't defend for nuts, he can't even make a decent tackle, the most is on par with pirlo, no more. he can run around and create problems for opponents but seriously i am NEVER impressed by Gerrard.
Lampard is not bad but again ain't impressed by him enough to pay the big money.
these 2 are "jack of all trade but master of none". i would take Diarra over them anyday. Diarra cover the midfield like gatusso and can make very solid tackles. I am rather impressed by Diarra and hope that he can come here. we don't need Sneijder to replace rui costa cos pirlo can play in that place when needed and other players like vogel or ambro take his place in MF. i also think that its amazing crazy to get a young player to sit on the bench, they need to play regularly to improve.

In last years CL final, how many times did Milan exploit Gerrard when he was put in at right back? I honestly dont remember (its a game i've tried to forget ;) ) but i dont remember Serginho getting past him once. Imho Gerrard would probably make a world class right back if he was put in that position on a permanent basis, it wont happen of course as Liverpool prefer to have him winning games for them at the other end of the pitch...
He can't defend for nuts
gee ... that sounds like a statement from someone who watches him regularly :rollani:
Gerrard is as physical and imposing as Diarra is, just ask most of the teams and players that come up against him. There isn't much else he can do to impress the likes of you hwmook, he can pass the ball as good as most in the game, he runs for the entire match, he has a shot like a mule, has scored nearly 20 goals as a midfielder this season and can play very well in a number of positions ! The only thing he can't really do is dribble, aside from that he'd be a major asset to any team.

eventhough i agree with u on diarra... but gerrard is a gem what are u talking about?
I agree Gerard isnt a defensive midfielder, but hes one of the best tacklers in the game. Hes a box to box player like Seedorf except more explosive. hes only about 25 aswel. He would fit into Milan either side of Pirlo perfectly.

gee...running around, bumping into opponents doesn't mean you can defend. dude, i said i am not impress by his abilities to defend, and you go on about his abilities to score. That sound real great, isn't it? He can't tackle good enough, just like pirlo. sometimes he can tackle and get the ball and sometimes doesn't. he is just not good enough defensively.
Totally disagree, there arent many better tacklers than Gerrard.
you know what I would like about a player like Gerrard. Say we play him in Seedorfs position, he and pirlo would be almost interchangeable despite having different characteristics. This could totally throw teams that try to stifle us by marking pirlo out the game as they could swap about pulling midfields out of shape.
I havent seen this sneijder play before b/c i live inthe states and dont get much netherlands or ajax games. I personally tho am hoping we get him b/c seedorf is going to be going downhill in the future. Sneijder is like u say the future of the milan team as with Gila and Kaka. I will sruely watch him closely during this summers world cup and keep a close eye on him. Hopefully he shines and we buy him and become more dominant. GO MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sneijder is definitely Milan material, he should be brought in to bring the heat
onto Seedorf to finally deliver or lose his place to this talent. This means
though that there is no place for Janku, he doesn't fit in the diamond
anyway, I say we use him in getting Chivu. I say we also sell Vogel, we can
get a good price for him and get Simplicio.

y isnt he in the Nederlanden National Squad?
I think he is but he is also kind of injury prone and it's not a rare thing to see him miss a number of games for either Ajaz or the Dutch NT.

very true! if his wc goes well we might just won't need to buy another expensive midfielder for at least 2 more years! we handle injured players well and it shows when pippo scores and janku plays well! :pp20:

I've heard Snejder will come as part of the deal with Stam or viceversa..Btw he's been chosen as heir of Seedorf.
I've heard we have taken Gorkouff a french player for the future, he's a technical midfielder and for the next season the priority is Diarra, a player that can play in every midfield role bar fantasista.

where did u hear that from? do u think it is true? I doubt we will be taking Gorkouff. Many clubs are after him and we were only linked with him.
Giovanni

Gorkouff is followed at the moment, nothing has been seriously done.
About Snejder, the crucial point is the Stam deal, which will set a new serie of already deep relations between Milan and Ajax (how many deals we did with them? countless)
The point is whether Snejder is considered already mature for Serie A and most notably the point of signing him right now, while he may get a couple of seasons more as regular at Ajax. Around these two points the future of Snejder will be decided.
It seems that Braida is particularly fond of this player. We'll see. But he's not a priority right now, and obviously not a done deal yet.

he is certainly pretty impressive, but im sure if i make a compilation of myself I will be impressive as well.. this clip does not actually indicate how good he performs and how consistent he is..
I agree, problem ios that Sneijder is a pretty small person, has no real duel abilitty. right now, he cant replace seedorf, maybe in few years.
Forget the video clip. If we are going to buy him, it will certainly not be because of his "greatest hits" compilation. I think the real reason we are looking into him is because he comes highly recommended from our very own Marco van Basten. And if that were the case, i think we should go for him. After all, MVB knows Milan very well, he knows our system, our philosophy---if this guy is recommended by him, i would take all the chances there are and get him.
wuld love snider
now our update on the 2006/2007 formation is like this
Gila N/P
KAKA
Snider Gatuso
Pilro
N/P Maldini N/P N/p
Dida(Buffon)
PS:-
by the way snider will play in the wc in the first team vs.argentina/cote/serbia
he shuld get use to this one more thing his crosses are amazing remember holland vs scotland
I`ll be very happy to see such a talant in Milan! I saw him a couple of times....he`s gr8!

Sneijder-Milan: perso Rosicky, l'Atletico Madrid va sull'olandese
Calciomercato

But our beloved coach certainly will not ask for a player like Sneijder... after all, he's only an 'unproved youngster', not a 'proved' player like fvckin' Emerson... so it doesn't matter if one are much more talented and younger than the other, all we care is about 'experience'...

i just saw sneijder vs. mexico and guys he really impressed me, i think MvB will put sneijder in the starting 11. and boy his passes are much like pirlo and he uses his 2 legs wonder he will do with pilro and kaka. he free kicks are great he almost scored. and one thing he assisted heintinga's goal from a corner kick. he is better than seedorf now and would like him now if were going for ruud and sniejder and wont we go kronkamp he would do wonders in our team after 1 year could take cafu's job permently. i wuld see the new formation like this(ofcorse with havinng faith in gila taking sheva's role)
Dida(GK)
Nesta(CB)
Kaladze/Gallas(CB)
Cafu/Kronkamp(RB)
Maldini(LB)
Pirlo(DM)
Gattuso(RM)
Sneijder(LM)
Kaka(AM)
Gila(CF)
Ruud(CF)

Fully agree with you that having Berlusconi back as the President.....money and most of all his ambition would give us more chance to have top players joining Milan..
I think Henry will be with Milan next year considering what has been said by Galliani....Couldn't we get him in January 2007 ??
My only worry is what Galliani stated that we do not need someone to replace Sheva as we will have Foggia back. here is what Galliani said on channel4 :
Pasquale Foggia will return from his loan spell at Ascoli and will stay at San Siro
“William Gallas is a similar issue, as he has another year left to run on his contract and Chelsea have told us they intend to make him respect that. If no renewal is agreed, he’ll be free to evaluate his future next season.” Does this mean that we can still have him if Gallas doesn't want to stay ??
Marco Borriello and Foggia are our players, while Fiorentina have not taken their option on Cristian Brocchi and he wants to come back. --> This make me "sick"...having Brocchi back would be a disaster for Milan..better sell him to another club..maybe Inter :5ok:
He said he'll loan a bunch of players.. so
Foggia really amazez me hes gona be one of the great legends who will play till they are 40 or so.(Billy,Maldini, and baresi)

guys, i was one of the biggest criticizers of Sneijder, but he has truly made me eat my words!
OMG has anyone seen him this season? He played amazing in Ajax's 5-0 win, and scored 2 goals, and also yesterday he scored 2 goals where ajax won 2-1 against Breda, and 2 pretty NICE goals from long range. I also see him assisting alot and playing long passes with both feet. I take my words back when I said I dont think he is physically good enough for Milan.
He and Huntelaar are real gems that we should keep our eyes on. We cannot lose Sneijder especially because we sold Stam to them to get a 'discount' on Sneijder, and also because he wants to join Milan. Huntelaar is simply amazing and the way he's going he looks like a new MVB style player. Both of them are cup-tied so forget them for this season.

I've always liked Sneijder, but you're right Hitman he has started this season on fire for Ajax.

I am not 100% sure but I read somehere that Sneijder and huntelaar would be able to play for another club in the CL once the elimination round begins ... so, if we need reinforcements come January, they might be an option.
I agree that Sneijder has been very impressive as of late with Ajax but we need him to be this way on a more consistent basis, not just a couple of consecutive games ... but the guy obviously has talent and is still young - 21-22 - so I doubt Milan would let him off their radar ;)

You are free to quote me if that kid becomes a mister zero :)
Huntelaar = the new Marco Van Basten.
Milan should buy him now, even when he can't play in the CL this year, because his price will triple after next season and Chelsea is going to steal him in front of our noses.

I completely agree with you. The times i have seen huntelarr play - for club and country- I could see a lot of promise. Your going too see more of him especially since van Basten said vNistelroyy will never play for Holland again. We should have got him now while we had the chance and sneijder. Guys the grass is always greener on the other side. One question, what has Huntelaar done that Gila hasnt?
Score in Europe? If he hasnt, then he probably will before Gila :)
He scored for Ajax in their qualifier.
WOW, what an achievment that is. Anyway, I see my original point was lost. Gila was awesome in his first couple of seasons in Seria A. He was awesome for Italian U21 and hes been prety good for Italy. If he hasnt scored in europe its because he has been unlucky. But when he does Il be there to remind you RT9
Thanks K77SH C. Believe me, I will be equally if not more happy than you when he scores the first European goal. I cant wait til Gila expresses his full potential for us---he showed glimpses of it last year in a few serie a games. But I agree with you, once the floodgates open, I can see him being a goal-machine for us. Let's hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Just out of curiosity, who are the teams that Gila scored against? Are they teams like Crvenz Azcisd or Kdasm AS Masda ? It doesnt matter that he scored in UEFA cup, FFS i'd rather watch the Italian cup final rather than the UEFA cup final. Teams that participate there, especially in the early stages are absolutely ridiculous and are not even Serie B material. Dont give Gila credit for scoring against them. But in the other hand, if he scored against teams like Middlesborough, Seville, etc then thats a good job.
But still again, so what if he scored 23 goals 2 seasons in a row for the best league in the world? What matters is how hes performing now, and last season well done to him for chipping in +- 20 goals, but he still isnt showing his full potential. He is not helping the team. He always goes for the dive everytime he has the ball.
And for those of you think im lieing or exaggerating, I invite you all to watch the France game today where he will play against good defenders and just PLEASE look for urselves that he is ALWAYS goes for a dive and is almost useless against good defenders.

Ofcourse I may be wrong and Gila might put in a good performance, but I have never seen a good Gilardino play for all of last season except in 2 games. Milan 5-1 Udinese, and Italy 2-0 Germany. Im guessing todays game with France will just be another game for Gila.

Well he just scored one of his goals. It was a set piece and he scored. Other than that, he didnt contribute to nething. He also was caught offside 3 times.
hitmannq8, I really don't see what's the point of being so harsh on Gila. Cassano, another forward for the Italians, did practically nothing. Italian is not doing well at all. Gila is not even receiving the ball and when he did, he kept the ball well. I seriously don't know what you are looking for here, and I find your harsh judgment to be quite unjust.
hitmannq8
06-09-2006, 15:04
Cassano did nothing? everytime he had the ball, he served it back well or gave a good pass. He is playing great. Im not being harsh, this is my honest opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs. I really just think Gila is not a player for Milan's future.
sure; whenever it becomes "everyone is entitled to theirs", I'll just leave our argument here.
I"ll rather conclude after 1 more season.

06-09-2006, 15:14
Cassano and Semioli have contributed absolitely nothing so far. Cassano playing great? Oh, for crying out load, if I didn;t know he started the game, I wouldnt know hes even on the field.
As for Grosso, he only contributes a great deal of erratic insecurity to the defence ... great move by Inter, definitely. :rollani:
All in all, Italy is playing pretty badly, lacking gameplan and fitness all in one. Gila isnt even getting the ball and has been pretty good in the few occasions hes had so far ... actually, his goal is basically the only time Italy managed to put up together a meaningful attack beyond the center circle so to bash him and hail an invisible Cassano would mean to have something presonal vs Gila.
@hitmannq8
He is a Milan player so if you are a Milan supporter at least you need to have a little trust in him .. "Well he just scored one of his goals" what was that ?
