Tevez cant replace Sheva, aldough he is a great prospect. In this case it would be better to go for IObrahimovic than Tevez, in my oppinion. Mascherano is a GREAT potential, he will become one of the best DM's in the world. Its good that we are searching for Dm's - De Rossi, Diarra, Marscherano.....
But, we still need Sheva to stay, and that could be first task for Silvio as our new/old president.
Personally, I would much rather have Tevez than Zlatan. Bringing in Carlito now would be like bringing in Sheva seven years ago. Of course nobody can completely fill Sheva's shoes right away. We can't expect that. But if we got Tevez, Mascherano and Gallas in return, that would be a magnificent deal for Milan's future!

but I have to agree with the general consensus that getting Ronie is hardly the best thing for Milan. We need someone whos hungry for titles and not for rich diners and blond women.
And even if he performs well on the WC, that will mean nothing, because play well the WC is for Fat Ronnie just a matter of hurt pride. He simply doesn't have anymore interest to play on club level.

so the deal is tevez + mascherano + gallas + $ ?? for sheva?
the article, as far as I remeber, mentioned only Tevez and mascherano but i guess we could assume that Gallas, given his contract situation and desire to leave Chelski, would also be included ... as for any money, I dont know.
I personally would ask for Alex, Gallas, and maybe Tevez/Crespo + enough money to buy Diarra (prefer him to Mascherano as he has a wealth of CL experience already). We'll see pretty soon I think.

so the deal is tevez + mascherano + gallas + $ ?? for sheva?
I disagree. The deal is that Shevchenko will be sold to Chelsea for Crespo and Gallas, plus a cash component. This is where Abrahmovich enters. Corinthians don't want to relinquish Tevez or Mascherano, but Abramovich will convince them to SELL the two to Milan. So Milan will have to pay for Tevez and Mascherano. Abrahmovich's assistance sounds shady and untrustworthy. What if Chelsea resile on their side of their agreement after acquiring Shevchenko? The Russian can claim that he tried, whilst for all we know he's been spending his days making babies with Kristin Pazik!!!

So, on thursday the fate of Milan's attack will be decided. Sheva mentioned that he had "family reasons" behind his intentions of leaving the club, then what is galliani going to do when sheva meets him on thursday....may be galliani has a part time job of a family counselor.
BTW mrki, your squad is indeed great without any major changes. What great performances we might put up if all those players come together.

Nuova stagione, nuove idee
22/05/2006 22.03
basically, the first line says:
"News for next year? Change the midfield a little bit to give Andrea Pirlo more freedom is an idea"
The backline of 4, the Offensive Midfielder, and the 2 forwards will continue... so that means, the change will come in the Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf positions... inserting a stronger defensive midfielder like Ambrosini in front of the defense, to allow Pirlo to move forward... this only to be done during the game, when more offense is required... not necesarily as the new scheme...
ACMILAN1983
22-05-2006, 20:25
Not a surprise that this will be done, as Pirlo's role in the side was becoming difficult for him to handle, as teams were applying great pressure on him.
Personally, I think adjusting Pirlo's role so that he has greater freedom, knowing a stronghold midfield will cover him will be the most important aspect of how to improve for the new season.
I would also be considering in changing Pirlo's attributes a little too. Whilst attempting to keep his flair and creativity, physically training him to develop greater strength will be of great use to him, especially to hold the ball more in deeper areas.
yes, let's not forget that he used to be a "10" more than a "5"... maybe like Kaladze, he could go back to his roots... but that would mean less Seedorf and/or less Gattuso...

the three choices for the next year are:
Toni
Trezeguet
Ronaldo
Toni is more likely to join Inter;
Trez can become free agent soon, but it means we must wait for the Juve relegation and wait the sportive sentences..it can be a long wait..Milan staff believe him and Gila can play together, and looking at the statistics he's one of the few players who can sub Shevchenko
Ronaldo...here three reasons why he can be our choice:
1) considering technical qualities he's the best player around
2) despite being fat he scored loads of goals at Real (so if he gets slim again he may score even more)
3) tactically he's the best player to partner with Gila out of the players available
Forget Tevez, Milan board won't risk his face signing a player that has never played in Europe as the replacement for a player like Sheva ..this is madness, and those who are sponsorising Tevez will be the first to bash Milan board in case he chokes
Ps.i think we must stay on a realistical ground and face the real choices available on the market...
Buffon can really become a Milan player..i said it 3 months ago and many people laughed at me...the chances grow every day more.

Sorry Gio, I don't usually disagree, but I think I have to this time. Tevez for me is probably amongst the best replacements we can get for Sheva (my other choice would be Adriano). Though I agree about him never playing in Europe could be an issue.
I think this time, the management can take a risk as to who is brought in, simply because we already have a youngster who is capable of doing well in a Milan jersey in Gila.
About Ronaldo, I definately wouldn't complain too much if we got him, and I'd be joyous were we to get him back to his best.

Graeme that's a squad of 27 with only 2 keepers !!! 3 keepers is usually the norm so a squad of 28 is way too much. If you look at most squads they average between 20-24, so you'd have to do a bit of trimming GC :D

And meanwhile our european rivals are seriously reinforcing themselves (Chelsea-Ballack / Arsenal-Rosicky), we sign the mighty Favalli... really a superb transfer policy that of ours...
hitmannq8
24-05-2006, 01:15
grenoli, i dont think anyone here is exactly ecstatic about signing favalli either.. i mean, teams like arsenal are really in need of players like rosicky because they are not a top class team.. milan atm do not really need to buy any new 20m players, because really, we dont have any space for the starting 11 for anyone.. our starting 11 is as perfect as it is..
we all understand ur disappointment in our transfer policy, not many people like it, i dont either.. but you cannot denie that it has been very successful in the past few years.. milan has been the favourite for the CL for the last 3 seasons and has reached 3 semi-finals. These are statistics, these are facts, u cannot denie that Milan have been playing so well under this transfer policy. Ofcourse i would love us to sign Ronaldinho, Messi, Kerlon, Aguero, but you must also have to think, replace who? if everytime one player has a bad season and we sell him, we will end up being like Inter.. we must show faith in our players..
u cant also say that milan has ALWAYS bought free old players, cuz they did spend some money on quality players over the past 2 season u know..they did get kaka, marek, and stam for reasonable amounts.. dont forget gilardino for crespo.. its not exactly as bad as u think..
all im asking of you is just to stop complaining about the transfer policy we have, and simply just let them do the job.. ofcourse we r all fed up of the free 30+ agents, but it has been working right? and u shouldnt worry too much, the transfer window is not even open yet!! i honestly think we have a surprise or two coming, especially if sheva leaves..
a squad of 23-24 looks good, 20 just too weak and 27-28 just to many and too troublesome. We need the best starting 11 and then another near best 12-13 to really rotate the team.
After a WC players are very tired so to compete in Series A, Coppa Italy and CL we need to rest every play every third game. It is just stupid to play our best 11 in games like Messina just 4 days before CL semifinal.
My squad:
GK: Buffon, Kalac, Flori (3)
Defend: Cafu, Nesta, Kala, Gallas, Serginho, Maldini, Oddo, Zambrotta (8)
Midfield: Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka, Pirlo, Jank, Ambrosini, Diarra, Robben (8)
Attack: Inzaghi, Gila, RVN, Torres (4)
We signed Favalli does not mean we will play him, we can loan him to Juve (in series B where he can be used).

Contrary to many here, your remarks are always polite and thoughtful, and you deserve my admiration for that, Hitmannq8. I know that we reached 3 CL semifinals on the last 4 years, etc, etc, etc., but I simply cannot believe that you are not perceiving a slow but evident decline of our's squad competitive powers. We still have an excellent squad, yes, but loaded with veterans which performing levels are inevitable declining. You cannot deny that players like Cafu, Stam, Seedorf, Costacurta, etc. already passed their prime, not managing to maintain their highest performance levels. I don't want a major renovation every year, of course, that's not the point at all, but we simply cannot go on eternally with such a veteran squad!
BTW: do you really belive that our starting 11 is perfect? you really can't found a spot for players like Ronaldinho or Messi on our starting squad? Well, I beg to disagree. For instance, I would love to see our midfield with two attacking midfielders, like Parreira is doing on Brazil's national team.

Barcelona's Marquez snubs Chelsea: AC Milan interests me
tribalfootball.com - May 24, 2006
Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez has made a 'come and get me' plea to AC Milan.
Chelsea and Milan are chasing the Mexico international, who is frustrated by Barca's stalling over new contract talks.
"England does not interest me," said Marquez. "Italy, yes, mainly when a team like Milan is calling.
"I want to continue being successful. I won't stay at a club to sit on the bench. I do not want to be individualistic, I want to put the name of my country in lights."

GNL, yes.. i also believe that players like Cafu and Costacurta are past their prime..but still they are extremely useful squad players to us.. and honestly, i have always thought that our starting 11 was perfect..and no there is no place for ronaldinho, because that would mean we would sacrifice the balance in our team.. atm, the balance of this milan side is amazing, and they have performed wonderfully in the last few years..
the only ways I can see us improving really is getting Diarra for Rino, n hope that Gila finally shows his worth.. true that he had 17 goals this season, but honestly, he hasnt impressed me in most of the games he played.. pippo is way better than him and that can be proven by the goal/minute ratio for this season.. I also dont like Kaladze playing in the centre, and prefer any of Gallas/Alex/Chivu (maybe lugano too)..
you see, now that Rui Costa has left, now Milan will look for a cheap alternative to replace, and it seems like we will be getting this young wonderkid Gorcouff(sp).. it could end up being a disastrous move, or a great move.. he could be the next zidane and we got him for just a few million, or he could be the inexperienced kid that had to step in for Kaka cuz he's injured, and cost us another CL trophy..
but yeah, all of us here would love milan to have tevez, dinho, messi etc. but its very unrealistic.. right now, i believe that Milan will unfortunately replace Sheva with RvN..this is a bad move..i believe the only person now that may be available, and is good enough to replace him, is none other than Antonio Cassano. Honestly speaking, I wouldnt mind Tavano either.

Salaam, brother. The above is a very rational assesment, congratulations. I agree with the idea of replacing Shevchenko with Cassanova. Not Tavano though. Tavano lacks that explosive element which culminates in a ludicrous piece of skill, an impossible assist or a vital last-minute goal. This is what Shevchenko does, and what Cassano is also capable of. Cassano is the Italian Ibrahimovich, albeit shorter and rounder. Milan's a superb environment for Cassano to flourish. It completely makes sense for Milan to approach Real in the event of Sheva's departure. He's frugal, but he is an Inter maniac.
With regard to Kaladze, his partnership with Nesta will continue, regardless of Gallas's arrival. The reason is that Kaladze can communicate with Nesta, because he speaks Italian. Any foreign player who has no previous experience of Serie A needs time to settle in and adapt to the football culture of Italy. Therefore, with Kaldze-Nesta Milan have refound stability. I welcome this.
I will finally add that Gourcuff is an unneeded luxury, as Pasquale Foggia is the best substitute for Kaka.

Anyways, Cassano...he came to my mind too...I donno...of the three (Ronaldo, Toni, Treze) I think Ronaldo would suit the style of play the most, Toni wold score the most, and Treze shouldn't be signed...I kinda think he's a finished player...somewhat.
If we are goint to rely on training Ronaldo then we can rely on training Cassano for more consistency (a good time in Roma had he). What's up with him? Wasn't he supposed to come and then we signed Gila? Now, the two...well...
Anyways, doesn't anyone remember how great it was to have Cafu at RB? The runs, the skill, the crosses....I don't think Gallas can do that....we need to put a right BACK there, not a right DEFENDER. I always hoped that playing Stam @RB was only temporary due to Cafus injury and that when Cafu heals we would go back to the original style. Now...Serginho was great, so...play them both Carlo :r11:

News from a Chelsea forum:
Gallas set to be makeweight in Shevchenko deal
By Jason Burt
26 May 2006
Chelsea may have reluctantly to sanction the sale of William Gallas if they are to sign their No 1 summer transfer target, Milan's Andrei Shevchenko.
An announcement was expected yesterday about the striker's future. But a meeting with the club's vice-president Adriano Galliani was postponed and will now take place this evening.
The Premiership champions still expect to sign the Ukrainian for °Ë50m (£35.2m) and it is understood that the player flew into Milan yesterday, from Kiev, to relay that he had decided to leave after seven years and finally succumb to Roman Abramovich's overtures.
A furious Milan have indicated they want Shevchenko, 29, to write an open letter to their fans to explain his decision ˇ especially as last week he was offered the contract extension he had requested taking him up to the age of 35.
Shevchenko underwent three hours of treatment yesterday on the injured left knee that is threatening his involvement in Ukraine's opening World Cup game.
He later left the Milanello, Milan's training ground, saying: "I cannot say anything yet ˇ first I have to speak to Galliani. I will not meet Galliani today ˇ perhaps tomorrow and maybe in the evening." Milan's ˇ and the player's ˇ advisers insisted there was no sinister reason for the delay but Gallas's agent, Pierre Frelot, is due to meet with Chelsea officials today.
The French defender, who has one year left on his contract, is desperate to leave Stamford Bridge and it is understood that Milan is his preferred destination.
Milan are also interested in another of Frelot's clients, the striker Didier Drogba, and his future will also be discussed at the meeting with Chelsea's chief executive, Peter Kenyon, although he is more likely to stay.
Chelsea's manager, Jose Mourinho, is loath to lose either player but may agree to Gallas's exit ˇ he has one year left on his contract and has said he will not sign a new one ˇ if it is the Shevchenko "deal-breaker" .
Sources at Chelsea have dismissed striker Hernan Crespo's claims he has been offered a new contract. The Argentinian, 30, wants to return to Italy, where his wife is from, but suggested Chelsea wanted him to sign a new deal. But sources said Crespo is among those who will be allowed to leave, especially if Shevchenko signs.

Sincerely talking, Hitmman... I simply cannot believe you are so completely attached to Milan's system of play to the point of sacrificing master class players in order to keep it intact... excuse me, but reject players like Ronaldinho, Messi, Rooney, Riquelme and other extraordinary players as well etc. for the maintainance of a tatical sytem sounds to me like sheer lunacy... tatical systems exists in function of the human material, not the contrary!

great post, foggia is milan material, we must take a close look at him. we need pacey unpredictable players who would come to milan by walk, if needed
Anybody know if we get some little money from Rui and Stam or not ?
What you think if Milan buy and sell like this:
Sell: Sheva=Euro 65M, Simic = 5M, Ambros = 7M, Voggel = 5M, Janku = 8M, Dida = 10M. Amoroso = ? Total = EURO 100 Million
Buy: Gallas + Drogba + Robben = 35M, Diarra = 20M, Oddo = 10M, Adriano = 20M, De Rossi = 7M and a CD = 13M (you name him), an a free Midfielder. Total = EURO 100.
What you think? realistic or not?
Our squad would be:
Abbiati, Kalac, Flori (3)
Cafu, Gallas, Nesta, Kala, Oddo, Maldini, Serginho, Costacurta and a young promising CD (9)
Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka, Diarra, Robben, De Rossi, another MF (8)
Gila, Inzaghi, Adriano, Drogba (4)
Total: 24
Solid or not? what you think? and cash balanced?
Not quite realistic to hope for Gallas, Drogba and Robben for only 35M... As for the quality, I really doubt Drogba would add some in Milan...

Well, so far we have lost 3 World Class players: Stam, Sheva, Rui Costa. Stam for a fee around 2m, Sheva prolly around 35m, Rui for free.
And we got in: 2 mediocre squad players for free: our 5th left-back, Favalli, and our 4th keeper Coppola.
Ofcourse the deals we have done so far arent satisfying, but before we judge anyone for anything, lets just wait a couple more weeks to see what's going to happen. And btw, the transfer window opens tomorrow.
We will certainly be buying at least 2 more to replace Sheva, and Rui Costa. So far everything is pointing at Gourcoff to be Rui Costa's replacement, and rumour has it that he has already agreed a deal with Milan and will sign it after the U21 championships..and as for Sheva, seems like Drogba will replace him. In defence, so far it looks like we will be getting Gallas, and probably Oddo. In midfield we were set to sign Poulsen at some stage, but we backed out, so I think we will be looking for a DM.
My personal wish for next season? Diarra without a doubt, and Cassano to replace Sheva (or even Ronaldo).

Braida might want to watch WC to find the best player for Milan in replacing Sheva?? Although by waiting till end of the WC the price of shining players may be more expensive....

After the WC the fees will surely rocket high.
Guys - stop living in a dream world. You will not get a "deal" when looking for a Sheva replacement. We are not going to get a player who is better than Sheva or even his equal. We will get a very good player and he will be expensive because we are not going to gamble on a future star or someone who is average to replace Sheva.
Look at Man Utd....they don't want RVN but are asking close to 35 million euros for him.

Truth is, no one can replace Sheva. But, there are players who are better than Sheva. Such as Ronaldinho, Adraino, Henry.... My point is, nobody can replace anybody, get it.
Back to the topic. I am very glad Berlu is coming back and I bet that it is no concidence that Milan is no longer the most dominating team when Berlu began running for office. Now that he is done with his political world, Milan will sure the be biggest and baddest bully in Football world again.
Heck, Berlu might even pay 60M for Ronaldinho, just to grab the spotlight again.
Forget about Diarra and Gallas, since after June 15, Berlu will go after Gerrard and Cannavaro.
Oddo will sure come, who cares if Milan pay 10m for him, since as long as he performs and helps Milan win trophies, CL, Series A and Ita Cup, it is 10m well spent.
So Seedorf and maybe Vogel wants to leave, then go, that would only make rooms for Berlu to spend, how about De Rossi and Snejider with Viera.
Hey we also need wingers too, maybe Robben or Duff, then again, Berlu loves Italian players playing for Milan, so why go for those two when he can go after Zambrotta.
So for my Milan Squad 06-07
Dida
Nesta-Cannavaro-Maldini
Oddo Zambrotta
Gerrard - Viera
Kaka Ronaldinho
Gilardino
Bench:
Pippo
Snejider
Janku
Pirlo
Gattuso
Ambro
De Rossi
You never know, since Berlu is back and he is back for good.
For all those that is going to tell me stop playing CM, well, I play Winning Eleven
hahahaha
For real, I think Berlu will put out a great team next year

Galliani said he will start bringing in players after Berlu is back as president, which is June 15. He also said that we will replace Sheva with someone equal to him. Lets see what happens, and lets hope Uncle Silvio gives us nice gifts on his return to Milan.
I have a feeling that we will use the money that Atletico owes us to get Torres. I really dont think Torres is the right solution. I hope he doesnt come this way. One player I think we might get from them is Perea, but one player I hope we get is Sergio Aguero. A million times better than Gourcouff and tons more of potential.
Another note, Mertesacker (sp) has had MAGNIFICENT games in CB for Germany in the last few friendlies. 2 months ago, reports said that we struck a pre-contract agreement with him. He's 21 yrs old and he's German. Watch him out at WC.

i think David suazo is our best hope atm.... History repeats itself... We lost Van basten and got weah... we lose sheva and Suazo is like Weah...
We should get Foggia back, he is mustard..... Oddo is a must this summer, he can play both left and right back, plus with the homegrown uefa thing he will be useful.
We should try and get Buffon, Dida has just been too unreliable.. We could use Abbiati as part deal.
I for one would prefer De Rossi over Diarra and Gerrard, if he is going to be the next best thing in Italy, it would be even better if we had him!
Im confused with the whole Gallas deal, to me Gallas is the best person to replace stam, a player who is a cm /rb/Lb. If we dont get him are we going for another CB (Barzagli, Canini), or a LB/RB? (Zambrotta)
Alot of transfers depend on Ifs, if juve and fio go down, we could try and get Toni or Ibrahimovic.....
I think Ancelotti will play:
--------------Inzaghi
--------------Gilardino
--------------Kaka
------Seedorf--------Gattuso
--------------Pirlo
Kaladze---Maldini--Nesta--Cafu
--------------Dida
Brocchi is back....and what is this stuff Galliani alwasy says " suazo is not for sale, oddo is not for sale..." offer enough money than they will sell.... WE gain 67 mil euros for Sheva, a lotmoney for Betandwin, and sold Stam and rui.....if cant afford 3 or 4 good players right now, well never be able to. Silvio will be back on 15.th and after that in expecting something good, this Galliani cant do s.....

Nice Interview by Galliani:
During the second day of the Workshop in Sardinia, Adriano Galliani this time spoke to the journalists about football matters and the chief executive outlined the strategy for next season, the relationship with Carlo Ancelotti and Silvio Berlusconi's return as president.
KAKA' QUESTION. On reports that Real Madrid were interested in signing Kakà, Galliani said: 'There doesn't seem to have been any contact with the player, but we need to verify that. Anyway, it's an honour that a certain type of club admire our players. I have to say that it's easy to buy a player for 40-50 million euro and it looks good: it's another thing to bring in a 19-year-old lad into the team when you have Rui Costa and Rivaldo, and then manage to bring him along in a short time. This is the sort of thing that gives you a lift, the beautiful thing about football.'
PLAYERS RETURNING. Looking ahead to next season, a number of players out on loan could come back: 'Abbiati, Borriello and Foggia are 100% Milan. The players who want to return will probably return, Forentina have not held Brocchi. Some will stay, others will go on loan while we have more players coming through the youth ranks. If next season two go (we have Maldini and Costacurta) then the following three and then four go, I have compiled a list for the upcoming years.'
THE GOALKEEPERS: 'We have five in fact: Dida, Kalac, Fiori, Abbiati and Coppola. The Brazilian is without doubt confirmed, two from the other four will be.'
THE DEFENCE: 'Cafu is staying, he's in good shape as always. Dario Simic is another element we want to keep ... he'll stay if his wife is happy in Milan! I have requested Oddo but Lotito came back with an incredible reply so I won't follow that up. I don't intend to annoy other clubs by naming players as Real Madrid have. We will report any club making an approach to FIFA. Gallas has a contract with Chelsea and they know that we will respect that, if he doesn't renew it we will be free and can decide on his future.'
THE ATTACK. With Shevchenko leaving for Chelsea, Galliani said: 'This is the third year the London club have asked for him and we have always said no, but this time the player asked. We aren't doing badly in attack: we have Inzaghi, Amoroso and Gilardino, we are confident in them all. Pasquale Foggia is one of our players and we are negotiating for Gourcuff. We have a good relationship with Rennes. Shevchenko will be replaced but we won't bring in a big name because it mightn't work.'
THE NUMBER 10. The question of who will wear the number 10 shirt after Manuel Rui Costa left has been resolved, with Clarence Seedorf taking it: 'When Rui left Milan, I called Clarence and asked him if he would wear the 10 shirt. I had no problems with him saying yes, which also proves that Clarence will not leave Milan.'
TRANSFER MARKET. It is a delicate time as Galliani admitted: ''Drogba and Van Nistelrooy are two main attackers so they can't substitute Shevchenko. I said no about Ronaldo as it's not possible to win over a Real player while the real dream was Henry who decided to stay at Arsenal. I tried after the Champions League when I saw the tears of his fans. I want him because of what he does as a player, but he's not available anymore.'
At the end of the interview, Galliani confirmed that Juventus would be the opposition once again for the L. Berlusconi trophy.

from channel4:
Galliani: 'Henry wanted Milan' Saturday 3 June, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milan chief Adriano Galliani outlined their transfer policy, aimed another sideswipe at Real Madrid and Chelsea, then revealed Thierry Henry talks.
“Our dream was to bring Henry to San Siro. I can say he certainly would’ve joined us had he not decided to stay with Arsenal,” announced the Rossoneri vice-President. “Milan are a buying club, not a selling one, and we want to remain at the top of the European tree.”
Henry had been linked with both Barcelona and Milan ahead of the Champions League Final, but it’s believed the loss convinced him to extend his contract with the Gunners instead.
Following Andriy Shevchenko’s £30m move to Chelsea, the media around Europe has gone into overdrive trying to identify who’ll come in – and who might go out.
“Shevchenko will be replaced by someone worthy of him, but we won’t sign a big star unless he’s useful to the side. Didier Drogba and Ruud Van Nistelrooy are centre-forwards, so they wouldn’t substitute Shevchenko in the system. I say no to Ronaldo, as it’s impossible to get close to a Real Madrid player without getting bled dry.”
“We aren’t in a bad way upfront,” continued Galliani. “There’s Pippo Inzaghi, Marcio Amoroso and above all Alberto Gilardino, who has our faith for the future. Pasquale Foggia will return from his loan spell at Ascoli and will stay at San Siro, while we’re in advanced negotiations for Yoann Gourcuff after entering very productive talks with Rennes.”
Galliani did everything possible to make Shevchenko’s move to Chelsea smooth, but aimed a few pointed comments in his direction after the Ukrainian insisted he made the switch to appease his American wife.
“Dario Simic is an important player for our defence and he will stay… seeing as his wife is happy to remain in Milan.”
There is also a very bitter row brewing between the Rossoneri and Real Madrid, after Presidential candidate Ramon Calderon announced plans to fly to Switzerland this week to ‘get to know Kaka.’
“I requested Massimo Oddo, but Lazio said he was not for sale and I respect that decision. I have no intention of irritating clubs that make their intentions clear, unlike for example Real Madrid’s strategy,” added Galliani.
“William Gallas is a similar issue, as he has another year left to run on his contract and Chelsea have told us they intend to make him respect that. If no renewal is agreed, he’ll be free to evaluate his future next season.”
Milan are eager to play down the idea that Shevchenko’s departure has weakened the side and insist nobody will be following him out of the club.
“Clarence Seedorf rang me to ask if he could inherit Manuel Rui Costa’s Number 10 jersey, so this shows you he has no intention of leaving Milan. Christian Abbiati, Marco Borriello and Foggia are our players, while Fiorentina have not taken their option on Cristian Brocchi and he wants to come back. Some of this group will be loaned out, but definitely not sold.”
Well after reading Galliani's comments I am more convinced that Ancelotti will play (same as always):
--------------Inzaghi
--------------Gilardino
--------------Kaka
------Seedorf--------Gattuso
--------------Pirlo
Kaladze---Maldini--Nesta--Cafu
--------------Dida
The only open questions are who the bench players are in the squad and I don't care about that.
I think he's playing the exact formation as before. Just a few players might change.

Lazio Oddo al Milan per risolvere comproprietà? -calciomercato source...

Sorry, but Galliani completely ruled out a move for Ruud van Nistelrooy this weekend. And who do you think Milan is? Chelsea? Ibrahimovic and Tevez as backups?!!!!! This isn't a fantasy team, you know! First of all, if Milan did get all those guys -- which they won't -- either Zlatan or Tevez would be in the lineup ahead of RVN because Gila is already an in-box striker. He and RVN are too similar. Besides, Galliani has also pretty much said that it will not a a big name replacing Sheva. So you might want to get used to the thought of David Suazo or somebody like that.

I'm not completely sold on this Rick. In my modest opinion Braida will go for two majors signings. And Suazo will come as well but for a more "modest" sum.
I still thinking we'll probably have Gallas and Perea for the defense; Poulsen and Gourcuff for the midfield; Suazo for the attack and more two players among Buffon, Zambrotta, Emerson, Torres, Tevez etc.
